Hi all, I've recently purchased a Motografix rear numberboard for my 2004 mono 749S. Having cut out one of the decals to apply this to the bike I've realised that they don't fit and are way too large. I believe this is because the 749S has a shorter rear tail unit than a standard 749. Doh!!! Has anyone got any ideas where I can get hold of these to fit the 'S' model as Motografix don't list any alternatives? The look I'm trying to go for is in the image below. Thanks!
I'm sure someone will shoot me down in flames if I've got this wrong ...but isn't the standard 749 a bip?...only the 'S' model came in Bip OR Mono, so the graphics cant really be for a standard 749....unless its fitted with a rear seat cowl, which is a different shape to the mono tail.
Just for info, I contacted Image Works in Derbyshire who produce a whole range of different motorbike graphics. They can produce and apply the rear number board as long as I send them the rear tail unit. Result!!
Be good to know how you got on. I have a standard carbon mono tail and need someone to apply a numberboard. Cheers.
Hopefully I'll be able to pick it up later this week. Once I do I'll post a photo and let you know how I got on.
Hi folks. Well my rear seat cowl and with the applied decal have finally arrived back from Image Works. What was originally expected to be a 1 week job turned out to be over 5 weeks which was obviously a bit dissapointing. The 'Ducati Superbike' decals don't line up as they've been applied at different heights on either side and one of the cuts could certainly have been straighter. Having said that, it cost just over £30 including return postage. I've attached some photos showing the final result and I'll let you make up your own minds if you think it was worth the money!
I think it looks good mate. The Superbike logo thing would annoy me, but i guess the trick is to put it at the back of your mind.
