It's the forward end of each can that needs the clearance........mine is pretty minimal (20mm??)...........I will see if I can measure the overall length of my link pipes (not round the bends, just the 'header socket to can' dimension..... ....back soon..... .....back now.......See bottom of the pic for dimension. Also, I suspect if I removed my link pipes they would not lay as 'flat' on a surface as yours do.......there is a very definite kink when looking down on them.........but they did come off an IE.
Don,t panic, our kid. I fitted the same pipes to my 97 750 carby and they are fine. You just need to carefully cut them down a little at the front until you acheive the desired effect. Do be careful though, not too much at a time.
