I reckon it will only be 4-5hp more, perhaps with a wider power spread as the general word is that Euro 4 is sapping some power
848 much more beautiful IMO. For touring it is usually more a matter of comfort and practicality. Monster 1200 or Multy might be a better route.
Whilst I agree with you, big bikes sell. You had the 848 but now ride the 899. You know you want the 959.
So the 848 evo will go and 1199 or new 959 will be the next bike in the garage Anyone in the market for a mint 5000 mile 62 plate evo ??
I'll be honest and say that the 899 is my fav bike ever, but mainly because it fixes all of the things I had an issue with on my 848 Evo. These are: Huge heat issues, savage riding position, crap standard suspension at the rear, vibrating mirrors, dash and headlights that totally misted up given half a chance and when mapped an 85 mile fuel range... That said... It did have a more 'traditional' power delivery for a twin that was really awesome off slow corners, u could drive out and almost feel the rear tyre squirm where as with the 899 I'm sure it's faster but there is a lot of electronic 'softening' of power done in anything other than race mode. A little part of me will always miss that 848 Evo, it's beautiful in a traditional way but I'm afraid the panigale is just the new kid in terms of a pin up for me! It's the main reason I didn't get an MV F3, I think the F3 is too much of a classic shape now
That is it exactly! The 848 is a fab bike but the 1199 is such a step change in design and electronics that i feel this is the future
I made the move from my 848 evo that I had for 4 years, I was nervous at getting the 1299 but, it's just a whole lot different bike. 6 months and 3500 miles and it's just epic. My 848 was awesome an is still an awesome bit of kit, but panigale is unbelievable. Everyone's different though! Not a bad dilemma have fun which ever way you choose.
