Steering Lock To Lock Adjustment

Discussion in 'Technical Help' started by DC313, Oct 23, 2015.

  1. Hi everyone,

Just wondering if there is an adjuster/stop on the head stock somewhere, so you can change the amount of lock to lock you have when turning the handle bars?

This is on a 748 SPS.

    Many Thanks
    Dave

  2. Not to my knowledge, why?

  3. only thing you can change is the steering head angle if its on the steeper one it will reduce the lock by quite alot.

  4. Don't know about the OP's bike, but the SS ones are either side of the bottom yoke. Grub screws and half-nuts.

  5. Just after abit more clearance between my fat thumbs and the air tube when on maneuvers in carparks etc.

  6. If it's on the steeper head angle is that when the steering dampner will generally be mounted to the more forward hole and the steering lock wont work?

  7. Sorry what do you mean with OP's and SS??

  8. Yes, steering lock won't work.

I have very little clearance on the left, but have got a little more by loosen moved it in the grove a little and tighten. There is a little play.

  10. Ahhh thanks! I'll have a look :upyeah:

  11. There should be stops on the bottom yoke. 10mm locknut and a 3mm allen key iirc.
