.., close my eyes and shout "LaLaLa", I can afford a full titanium Termi system for my Multi 1200S Sport, 2011. Thing is, I've just had a ReXxer map done, which made it beautifully smooth. Will the Termi system be as good or will I have to have it dyno'd to get it to be so? I know I can revert to the old, remapped ECU but want to know if it's worth upgrading.
These bikes run very lean. Fitting the full termis system will make that worse. It would benefit from a full remap down on a dyno. Cjs at Bristol for around £400? I'll be selling a full ti terminal system as soon as I can get around the workshop safely.
Hmmm... Sounds like a money pit. Think I'll be satisfied with my current smooth bike, and keep my cash for my new shed.
Yes you are right. Either a full ECU for the single spark plug bikes or a flash USB stick upgrade for the later 2013/4 twin spark bike (edited following other posts). It has a USB stick that is attached under the pillion seat, in a one time process to load a generic modifying set of maps. Given how each engine and each cylinder in each engine varies the single spark MTS1200 is particularly well suited to custom dyno mapping. For those that don't know this bike has a very advanced ECU fitted. It has a separate fuel map for each cylinder for each gear. Six fuel maps for the front and then six for the back cylinder. It then has separate sparks maps for each cylinder for each gear (source CJS). When leaving the dyno I was scared to open the throttle fully on mine. It transformed my bike into something I could fall in love with again. I'd done 20k on her over 24 months and when it went in I was already singing the praises of her. I left CJS (Dyno and remapper) a few years back on the hottest day of that summer. I rode back from their workshops near Bristol via Winchester to home at London Heathrow, just so I could experience those A roads with my "new" machine. A custom remap and suspension setup are the best upgrades, £ for £ that you can spend on these bikes. Note : I never had my twin spark machine rempped, however I've heard that the results weren't as dramatic.
Is there a difference between earlier and later models in that the earlier have the ECU changed, and the later ones have an Up-map on USB? I'd need to know that this one was specific to my bike (viz ECU swap) I don't want to spend the cash then find I have to dyno'd and remap on top.
The full Termi for a 2010-12 MTS come with an ECU swap. 2013 and onwards come with the UPMAP USB key. Different part numbers on the Termi Kit depending on model year as above.
Now waiting a reply to see if it's an ECU job or an Up-map one. Still trying to find out if it's going to need fiddling with afterwards to get it smooth, like my current setup.
Dyno 2010 to 2012 (single spark engines) huge improvement in all respects. Best Ducati $ investment. Dyno 2013 to 2014 (twin spark, non DVT), little gains if any in torque or power per RPM, but a better response, more linear. Questionable return on your Ducati $. Sorry I've no knowledge to impart on the DVT and a remap. Can anyone else shed a light?
Not going to do this, now that I've been told it's only the pipe work:-headers and can, not the matching ECU, nor the air filter and rear foot peg hanger. Those bits would up the cost out of my range
I've got the QD system, been awesome since day one, it retains the front header pipes but everything else is changed, no cat, I did have a remap at CJS that was a good improvement and 150 + BHP at the rear wheel, but it ran fine pre remap.
I never heard one...but the look the bollocks.Best looking exhaust for Multistrada's... But cost more than a termi!
They sound the dogs, I get loads of comments on how good it sounds! I agree not the cheapest, and harder to get hold of now too. But you know what they say... Buy cheap buy twice! Lol
£1250's the cheapest I've found. All the full Termi systems are dearer than that, and at the moment are lacking the ECU and air filter parts. Thing that bothers me is, having just got a ReXxer remap which made my Multi beautifully smooth, would either QD or Rermis ruin that, and require even more loot to fix with another remap?
