Hi Guys, Not long since got active on here so first wanted to say hello to all you fellow Ducati riders. After 15 years riding, I turned to the red brand after lots of fun on everything the Japanese have to offer......however once I slung a leg over that 1198 there was no going back. Five years in and I'm hooked. Yes I've had a few frustrating gremlins rear their ugly head on my bike but I take the view that the overall riding and ownership experience of my Ducati far outweighs the minor frustrations of reliability gremlins. My '07 fireblade was bomb proof reliable over 25k miles and with no point of reference I absolutely loved the thing but in retrospect she was a BORING old bird, brutally efficient and well built but still.........a little bit boring. Anyway....my question is again one of reliability. I recently test rode the new (ish) 1299s and confess to really rather liking it. I decided in my own mind after five very happy years on the 1198s, it was perhaps time for a change. I'm keeping my eye out for an ex demo S, ideally with the full system Akra set up but my real interest is whether any of you guys have been running one for the past 6 months and have any real world reliability gremlins/scare stories to share....I've heard of various little anomalies but nothing to scary as yet......anyone care to elaborate?
Ducati Glasgow are selling their ex-demo 1299S with full Akra system if you're interested. Ducati 1299 Panigale S 2015 '15 Ex Demonstrator for sale
Cheers Guys. Much appreciated Certi....yea spotted it a little while ago, been up for sale for a few months now I think. Really well spec'd......don't know if I wouldn't prefer to buy a little more local though....fair old hack to Glasgow for me
Yeah bit of a distance, they'd no doubt arrange delivery for you though. I had a shot on it back in June (assuming it's the same one) and it's a peach.
Ow that looks great Certi......just what I'm after. Love that titanium blue. Shame Ducati Glasgow haven't posted any pics themselves. yea I mean I have a trailer and whatever so could go and get it, just have a vague notion of buying local (ish) in order to keep the dealer sweet if things start to go pear shaped 12 months down the line......I know I can go anywhere....but ya know what I mean.
They've got a couple of pics on their MCN advert... DUCATI 1299 PANIGALE S (2015/15) for sale [ref: 3330449] | MCN Yeah I know what you mean about buying locally.
Dead pixels on dash like this loaner I have. Dash replacement when it goes back I believe. Seen a few others report the same in u s and a.
Very interesting. Certainly one to watch as I suspect that's an EYE WATERINGLY expensive replacement (once out of warranty obviously)
