Your Bike And Supercars?

  1. I once made a cocky Ferrari 355 driving Prince Nasseem lookalike (or maybe it actually was him?) look a bit silly by leaving him for dust on a scruffy Q-plated Bandit 600 winter hack which only cost me £500 :tearsofjoy:

    Bikes are awesome

  2. A couple of months ago had a tussle with a bloke in a ferrari 488, brand new by the looks of it.... Looked like lewis hamilton with a shoe bomber beard.... I was on my zed.... Traffic was light to medium and wherever possible was going for it, i was on my zed. No way was he getting way from me, but whenever i got up beside him he was grinning like a Cheshire cat, so not really any kind of race but a play around and a good one at that, i turned off for work and he gave a really spirited wave like he wanted me to follow him.... But reality took over (had to clock in....boo)

On the way home from the tt this year on the motorway caught up with an mp12c with some fay bloke driving with a dolly bird in the passenger seat.... No luck there, traffic quite heavy (motorway) plus loads of other bikes on their way home as well...

And my finest moment.... 20years ago had to go to my step sisters wedding in a place called Congresbury (between Weston-super-Mare and Bristol) picked up a Porsche 928s2 on the ashton bypass out of bristol, no traffic and he was going for it. I was on my tdr 250, gutted pipes, dep rears, skimmed head with ported barrells.... It was neck and neck all the way.... Went through congresbury and carried on to weston. On pretty well every corner i got past him and then on the straights he'd leave me then id reel him back in again. Got to the wedding late (so what)... It must have looked weird as i was wearing a suit....

When i got to the wedding the bike felt a bit weird.... Which was due to the back wheel on the verge of collapse.... Sold the wheels and put tzr ones on....

    Top stuff.

  6. This is why, despite living not far from Devil's Bridge, I never go anywhere near there at the weekends and very rarely at any other time.

There are some great roads round there, which can be ridden quite quickly, but the visibility is just rubbish and you never know when an idiot in an Ariel Atom v8s, a Caterham or whatever is going to be coming the other way at the limits of their ability without regard for what might be round the next bend.

Grow up, and if you want to race do it on a track.

  7. Yep. The bike had a terrible start. Even so its some going to reel in a Veyron from that far back. Isn't there a vid somewhere of a Superleggera giving a Veyron and a MaClaren P1 a good spanking?
Good idea for Poole quay next year..;)

  8. It was a joke

  10. Loads of s1000rr vids about!

  11. A couple of years back a Skyline surprised me off a roundabout on dual carriageway. I had gf on back so couldnt accelerate too quick but caught him at 162 according to gf who was clock watching.
She normally digs me in ribs at 120-130.

  12. Looking at 1/4mile times for the 899 and Aventador, as well as 0-60, 0-100 i think it'll be properly close.

We've both got our work cut out getting them off the line cleanly.

  14. Sure there's a vid of a KTM 1290 taking on a Porsche.
Couldn't find it but there's this. Jeremy McWilliams ragging a 1290 at Ascari.
Nothing to do with supercars but worth a watch on a wet Friday afternoon..
    Not your average track-day vid:

  15. if its races youre after you should head down to kent one weekend and the seemingly never ending amount of wankers in ford focuses/chav mobiles, never gets boring showing them how slow their cars actually are ;)

  16. Rarely see supercars down in the south east but hardly surprising given that its nose to tail in traffic during daylight hours. Always makes me snigger when you pass someone in an expensive car sat there with the rest of the great british unwashed. Whats the point or buying a fast car and sitting in traffic all day long?

    Very odd behaviour.

  17. lol where do you live in the south east?

I live in kent, and i've never seen so many 'super cars', there's two ferrari owners in my parents road & a guy with a maserati. There's a guy down the road that's got a bright yellow gallardo as well....

My neighbours got a 911 turbo.

Seems to me like everyone's got one. 911's are like Golfs these days ;)
