I stupidly bought TRW Rearsets, which are rubbish, look like a school boy metal work project, and the left side completely fell apart on the end of the long straight at Almeria during the second day of use. They weren't assembled using Loctitie, even though the manufacturer's specification advises this if you make any adjustments. UK Road & Race, who I bought them through were total a-holes about it and refuse any refund. Even buying them was a nightmare. Took almost a month to turn up, no responses to my emails, and when they turned up the box was clearly secondhand. The connection to the rear brake was missing, but couldn't send them back as they arrived just before I was sending the bike off with FE for Spanish trackday. So, advice. Avoid both UK Road and Race and TRW.
I will be buying Bomanniccciiii how ever it is spelt. A guy who races that I used to know (put them to the test) as part of the marketing brand association what ever you want to call it.. I got some on my R6 and was very happy with them but they are a bit expensive rrp.
Google the consumer rights act 2015, which applies to any business to consumer sales entered into after 1 Oct 2015 You have a right to reject faulty goods within 30 days. Also, as someone has posted above, if you bought them using a credit card, then your card company should refund you and then try and recover the money from the seller. Consumer Credit Act 1974 s.75
I have never seen any rear sets that arrive locktited, down to you to fit to the bike and secure correctly.
There was a mention of FE (Focused Events) in the original post, it's common knowledge that FE are responsible for anything bad that happens on one of their track days (weather, crashes, poor catering, poor fuel consumption) therefore the blame lies squarely with FE as if Mick was booked with NL there wouldn't have been a problem.
Ah I'm with you now There's a bloke with a flaking rear sprocket on an 899 on another thread. I wonder if he's ever spoken to FE? That would explain everything
If he intends to do a TDF with FE then it will certainly be Big Kevs fault, my sprag clutch went on my 998 at Silverstone with FE, bastards..........
i have trw rear sets , and race with them , full spares back up in stock , bsb , wsbk use them , brill , u always lock tight adjusters afyer sorting your best position , you must think they fit straight onto bike with no locking compound , more fool u ,
I have TRW rear sets too. No problems here. I assembled and locktite'd them myself of course. Knurling on the the pegs could be deeper for more grip but otherwise fine value
