I know they changed the tail on the 1299 from the 1199 but I guess the inner fittings are much the same still? Posted this a million times because it still makes me laugh thinking about it. Completely unnecessarily carrying a can of fuel in one side which I wouldn't bother with next time as there's fuel stations everywhere.

If going to Assen, fill up with fuel just before you get to the circuit if leaving straight after the racing. The ques at the pumps are long before race day. After the race they are mad. Stations employ extra staff to stand in the forecourt area with bumbags full of cash; so you sit on your bike fill up, pay the service droid and gas it. (slowly, of course).
Much prefer the Ventura rack for luggage, no chance of scratching the bodywork of the bike and you can bungee any type of waterproof bag onto it
