Not announced officially but it will be the same time again as last year (2014) in mid July. Don't forget that if you're a member of one of the four official Desmo Owners Clubs (DOCGB, UKMOC, DSC, SDC) then you can get tickets at a 50% discount, so the 2014 weekend ticket was €40 instead of €80. Once everything has been announced officially, the Clubs will have more info.
In 2012 it was actually mid June but changed for 2014 as antonye says. Would like to see it put back as the roads are less busy, and on-route hotels less full in June.
Date is usually weekend before or after Italian WSBk or MGP round and when theres no racing so riders of both series can attend.
The MotoGiro d'Italia is from 18 - 25 June 2016 if anyone is interested. Motogiro d'Italia | Official Web Site
The Italian Moto GP at Mugello is listed for 22 May 2016, and the Misano round in September. No MotoGP on 3 July.
Just wondering if any WDW regulars knows where every one stays while there during the festival - I usually get it wrong and end up wheres theres nowt going on or miles from any where ! any hints would be great.... Ta Very Much
Most people stay in one of the 3 main resorts on the coast: Riccione, Misano Adriatico (which is nearest the circuit) and Cattolica. There's normally one official WDW evening event at the Misano Circuit, one in Cattolica and one in Misano Adriatico or Riccione e.g. stunt riding display, beach party, BBQ, rock concert, mass ride-in through a couple of the towns. Last 2 WDWs I've stayed in Cattolica and will be doing so again this year. It tends to be full of Ducatisti - you'll see loads of Ducatis parked up on the street, club flags hanging outside hotels and bars - there's definitely a party atmosphere in the evenings. I've not been into Riccione and Misano Adriatico to compare, but there's no danger of missing out on the action if you stay in Cattolica. If you stay anywhere else e.g further up the coast at Rimini, inland (e.g. near Tavullia - Rossi's town) or even San Marino, it would be less handy if you want to get to the official WDW evening events, and you're more likely to feel you're missing out on the action. (Being a mosquito magnet, I was eaten alive the evening I hung out with friends in Tavullia - the mosquitos aren't as fond of the coast).
Cattolica is definitely the best place and will be cheaper. It's a popular holiday resort so is setup for cheap weeks and is right on the beach. It's also closer to the circuit. The further up the coast you go to Riccione the more "posh" it becomes, and also more expensive! There's a bus that runs on the main sea-front road between Cattolica and Riccione, and you just jump on and stick €1 in the machine, so it's really easy to get about if there's anything on a bit further away, but it's also great to walk as it's warm into the evenings anyway.
San Marino is delightful, if you prefer a quieter experience. It essentially consists of a huge mountain, and the views are fantastic. San Marino - Wikipedia, the free encyclopedia
