Delivery Day And First Ride!

  1. Hi..
The day finally arrived after what seemed months (was actually just over a week)..
The streetfighter was at home when I left off work in all it's shiny red glory....

It was a wet miserable day so I decided i'd just remove the old wheel stickers and replace with my own choice of colour and give the bike a good clean and polish whilst waiting for a brighter day...

Woke up Thursday and thankfully it is dry-ish...
Finished my cuppa and rolled the Duke outta the garage... Started it up and what a fabulous sound from the termi's...
Initially I was really shocked at the pick up from a stand still and just the torque from almost whatever speed..
However I did find the clutch a tad heavy for town riding so I've ordered the upgrade clutch slave in the hope that it will ease the clutch a bit..
I'll get some pics up tomorrow...

  5. Welcome to the fun :D

  6. Why? Is the seat hard?

  7. You have to lower the tone don't ya

  8. Cryptic ;)

  9. ;)

  10. No piccies up yet??

  11. I've now fitted the Oberon Clutch Slave which has made dealing with traffic so much better... Also has smoothed out initially pulling away too so really pleased with that..
Got round to fitting some heated grips too with a relay to stop the usual accidental discharging of the battery...
Found some tiny spotlights which I have added onto the side of the radiator to help with some of the darker country roads round here..
Next up will be a heated seat!!

  12. It'll look nice when its done. ;)

  13. Tested out the heated grips yesterday on a quick ride and i'm very impressed.. Didn't think i'd feel much through the gloves but my hands were toasty....
Just took off my levers as they were a weird anodised red colour which didn't match the bike, not even close so I pulled them off and at the mo they are in the garage after a quick colour change to metallic black...
I've also taken delivery of some rather tiny indicators which will be swapped over tomorrow along with trying out this new solar charger....

  14. Nothing like a new bike feeling :) Enjoy!

  15. I'd be interested to see the indicators. I want some smaller ones but I can't decide what and there's no room for a resistor under the tail tidy.

  16. Once I have the indicators fitted i'll get some pics...
I reckon they are about a third of the size of the original indicators...

  17. Lightech indicators on mine. I like em.

  18. 848 or 1098 mate? We need pix too. :)
