I've got to admit it's been a long time since I've ridden a decent hardtail but I don't have any issues climbing on my Stumpjumper

 

lets just say its very forgiving, and you can stay in the saddle all the time. its like a big bmx really. I think a giant anthem may have suited me better. very similar to stumpy
