I've had a load of bikes in my time (yes - I'm an old git!)and to be entirely honest always look at DUCATIS as overpriced rich kids toys but I've just swapped my beloved classic Triumph 750 Bonnie cafe racer (just too hard for me to kickstart or I would never have sold)for a totally totally mint 2004 4,000 mile 749.One ride and I was in love and admit I've been very wrong all these years! I've never ridden anything that handles like it - amazing machine.Im told its standard apart from a carbon fibre exhaust slipcover? Trouble is for me it's a bit on the quiet side? Is there any way of increasing the exhaust note without spending the Crown Jewels? I'm new to DUCATIS so your help would be much appreciated,thank you,Jim

Took me 2 years from a box of bits (plenty of the "it's all there mate" bits missing!)Prob was I built it so high compression even the worlds strongest man couldn't kickstart it! I cried when it went
Its just had belts and full service.Got 10 service stamps in 4,800 miles! Prob why it's so low miles - it was always getting serviced!
The only other time I've cried is when my wife left - but that was only because she ran off with a mate! And I really miss him. Hahaha
Hi,thanks for your suggestion but unless a replacement part is going to give more performance or improve handling bolt on goodies are not for me!ive been a car dealer/motor trader for 40+ years and have found that one mans bolt on extra can be another mans horror and it can put a lot of purists right off when it comes to sale time
A Termignoni can is favourite but they are highly desirable, so not cheap. It is possible to 'core' the standard exhaust and you should be able to find something on Google about it. My 999 came with a professionally cored exhaust, which is straight through and has larger tail pipes, like the Termignoni. If you can find one of those, it should be a more reasonable price.
Depends on your budget, I had a full Titanium Leo Vince setup on my 999s and it sounded and looked frikken awesome... imho it looks and sounds better than the termi option, there are a few on flea bay at he moment...
