Just arrived back in Cape Town and looking forward to a great summer (uk winter) :tongueout: season of enjoying this lovely bike.
What a great looking standard (ish) bike. I think that's a great sports road weapon in these modern 200bhp electronics days. 100Bhp use all the power in the first 3 gears, enjoy the weight and handling. I seriously considered a 748 instead of my 996s but the write one of them came up first...... Maybe I need another.........
think its called SSR,comes with a few colors.it basically straighten up the 916 or 748&me reckon it looks so much nicer,if u loves taking picutures. heard a few cases of early ducati sidestand collapsed! 015 by fesa7044, on Flickr
I've seen only a handful of 748's & 996's around town. If you interested in buying one.. A mate is selling a 996 that only requires a paintjob for only ZAR55K = £2500 its a super good price and the motor and all other mechanical bits is in 100% working order. (As he used to be the head mechanic for Ducati Cape Town before they closed down).
Love that look.. I wanted to actually trick it out with loads of bits before, but decided to keep it original. As I will be selling it at the end of the summer season. Then I head back to Ibiza for the next season. Would have had a nice collection of bikes by now if my work didn't require me to travel as much.
fantastic pics and a fantastic place to visit i hope you managed to eat in khaya nyama (the game restaurant) while you were there
