  1. Just found this -

THE CARBON KING 848 1098 1198 CARBON FIBRE SPROCKET COVER FIBER | eBay

    - which would indicate the 848 and 1098 would share the same mounting points and sprocket cavity? :upyeah:

    All good!

Your cover mounting points would indeed appear identical?

Best I can do without having the bike in front of me - buy one, if for any reason it wont fit, return it for full refund!

Can't do better than that.

  3. Cheers, can you PM me with your name/address and price/postage and I'll get a postal-order in the mail to you.

    Thanks very much.

  4. I'd like one for my M1100evo as well. Can you send me details? I can pay via paypal if that suits? Thanks!

  5. You have pm. :upyeah:

  6. You have funds! :upyeah:

  7. Nice 470four, here's one I made earlier. I welded some strips across the side so the chain guard can replace the original sprocket cover. The mess when a chain breaks on a Ducati is beyond belief.

  8. Nice! :upyeah:

Does it follow the V-shape of the cavity or is it a round profile in front of the sprocket?

My 2mm Ti plate is here! Just have to work out how to cut it? Files and drills ok, DESTROYS 1mm stainless cutting discs tho??! I have a plan B I will enforce tomorrow

  9. Posted today, Mate!

    Cheers :upyeah:

  10. It is a simple round profile, if I remember right I tried to follow the casing profile but this was too tricky. If the chain goes it will probably give this a good mashing but still save the case.

  11. Good work! The round profile is the one, the Vee-profile in the cases is why the chain gets caught up? :)

Can I ask what the springs are for??

  12. I knew you would ask that. Nothing fancy but if you have noticed the Ducati gearchange has one return spring for down-change and two return springs (via the internal detent arm) for up-change. Instead of going through the agro of replacing the main spring every few years I've put a spring outside to ensure lever return on the up-change.

  13. CLEVER. :upyeah:

    Mmmmmmmm Titanium...

Got my sheet of 2mm Titanium a few days ago, took a fortnight to arrive from Slovakia, where they use it to make the inserts for Army/Police bulletproof vests? :upyeah:

Ti case-savers....trial cutting resulting in much scratching of head (never seen ANYTHING demolish a stainless cutting disc before??! Hard as!), my Uncle refused point blank to cut it into blanks on his power-guillotine as it would "fk the blade up, and they ain't cheap!"

    Hectic.

Now using diamond-studded discs, I managed to get a pre-production prototype done.

    Frickin' GORGEOUS!

The silver one is stainless steel, the Rather Nice golden-rainbow one is Grade5 Titanium and weighs as much a small fart.

Just cut another one ready for File, Flame & Finish, the one above is reserved, this next one will be going in my bike (coz I'm worth it)

    SPLENDID.

I will be making just a few of these - Titanium in this quantity ain't cheap! Looking at three times the price of stainless? Having said that I have a few pre-orders already!
