  2. swap speeding

  3. had a few beers with perry farrell one day.. but thats another story.. unless ive already told it here? in which case it would be the same story:D

  4. Got my court summons through today.

Looks like I can do a guilty plea by post, then if they want to disqualify me, I can have my say on why I think they shouldn't.

  5. Happy new year from the boys in blue. Tough luck mm.

  6. Tell them you'll lose your job if you can't drive. Make sure that this could be true though - if you live five minute's walk from your workplace and don't drive for a living, that argument won't work. In fact, it'll work against you.

Or, if you have dependents who rely upon you - children, elderly parents, etc - you can argue that a ban will affect them.

    Good luck :upyeah:

  7. I live 23 miles from work, so I do actually need my car to get me there.

  8. Train? Bus? Car pooling?

I'm not asking but the magistrates will.

  9. Can go by train and tube but prohibitively expensive.

  10. I'm not an expert by any means but I don't think inconvenience to you will be much of a defence. It is after all meant to be a 'punishment'.

You will probably need to do some in depth research if you are trying to put together cohesive justification for leniency.

    Good luck!

  11. They may not care. I hope they will. You'll be called upon to provide a financial statement so that they can work out your fine, costs contribution so they will believe that they can assess your ability to pay for public transport.

I can't remember if you told us the circumstances of the collar - what limit was, what excess was, dual carriageway, m-way, residential area. These factors are taken into account in working out what sort of tariff you will be subject to.

    Sucks.

  12. 76 in a 50. Overtaking lane on a single carriageway.

It seems that I'm at the mercy of the magistrate. Let's hope that they get out of the right side of bed that morning.

  13. You are probably just the right side of a health fine,costs,3/6 points and a speed awareness course.I wouldn't advise takin professional legal representation with you to court as this just informs the beak that you've got a few quid and they will load the fine up! Good luck chap

  14. Not the worst it could be, looks like you are in the middle band. 4-6 points OR 7-28 Day ban, depending on whether there are other factors. Pleading guilty right away may reduce the punishment and certainly will reduce the fine.

Flashed or traffic cop? If cop, you need to consider what his statement says. With camera, it'll be just a straight assessment of the speed.

  16. I just saw it was Surrey traffic!!! They ain't called THE BLACK RATS for nothing? They never let you off with a roadside warning and write up everyone always.Thames Valley in comparison are almost "likeable"!

  17. Mobile camera unit.

I now know what I look like on the bike from behind.

I will be pleading guilty straight away, as I see no milage in doing otherwise.
