Caught Speeding

  1. There is always hope!!! I got nicked in September 2014 on A74 driving from Glasgow back to London at Gretna of all places driving my 2006 Jag with a mate following in an S60 Volvo. As you can see plod claimed I was doing 110mph and racing my mate. They were in an unmarked black RS4 saloon with about 5/6 twigs on the back of roof - like I didn't spot them??? They got me in back of Audiand questioned me (see pic) saying they had us both on Video and tried to get me to admit to 110mph and racing on a public road - I said lets see what the video shows so he fiddled about and after a few minutes said it had frozen and wouldn't replay.Anyway I had my day in court, denied speeding at all and not exceeding 70mph and definitely not racing anybody. They failed to produce video evidence and as I had found out that their RS4 was 7 weeks overdue its speedometer calibration it was thrown out of court! There were a lot of smiling motorists waiting to go up image.jpg

    Best of luck.

  6. Whenever Ive been to court for speeding on bike Ive told the bench that I'm going to sell the bike to keep myself out of trouble. They like that, nod approvingly or smile. Breaks the ice a bit.

  8. The unfortunately the first I knew that I had been caught was when I received the nip. So I couldn't employ that tactic.

  9. how long did the summons take to arrive?

  10. Got caught on 6th September. Sent the nip straight back when I received it and received the summons yesterday.

  11. sorry mate, looked back in ya post an seen that! been waiting nearly 8 months for one....

  12. I'm not completely sure but I thought that they only had 6 months to send you the summons.

  13. I think the six month bit is to tell you youre gonna get done.Summons can be whenever,I might of made that up tho.

  16. No. I have seen this one many times over the years and it is completely fictitious. A good story but full of holes.

  17. A car dealer I know very well who I will of course not name found out through texts he saw on his wife's (now ex wife!) mobile that she was playing away from home with one of his neighbours! She was driving a silver Porsche Boxter at the time and went to a sports car hire firm and hired the identical silver Baxter for the weekend. He had a set of number plates made up (easy in those days but trickier now) with the registration number of her car, went to a fancy dress shop and bought a cheap blonde wig and yeah you've guessed it - went out all weekend blasting past fixed rear phot speed cameras!Caused her untold shit with police and the courts as she couldn't use her "lover" as an alibi
