Hi All. This has probably been asked a thousand times but i'm asking again. Has anyone fitted a power commander to their Multistrada and if so, what were the results? I have a 2011 MTS1200 and wondered if a PC would help the low speed response.
Not worth it. The PC can't fuel the lower rev range so relies on O2 emulators to fudge the signal. Rexxer tune is around half the money and results are better. I've done several now. Bespoke ECU tune a little better still but costs a bit more.
I tried it ,first bike that Dynojet uk did, it was better BUT as said above it was not right throttle was very on off, tried different maps nowt worked.low down no good but mid to high range spot on. I took it off in the end because what it gave with one hand it took back with the other . So where am I at this moment..... Leo decat, akropovic end can with home made baffle when I need it quieter.(not much) CJS REMAP you do not need any more. I rode from Cumbria to Bristol got remap and rode back in a day (pissing rain as well) And if I had to I would do it again. I don't post on here much ,it frustrates me ,to much 'waffle' from some people I have 2012 pikes peak ,wouldn't buy a new DVT ever ,they have ruined a good bike to make it to much like a BMW GS1200. WAFFLE AWAY............
I'm holding back for my remap riding to Bristol from Cumbria isn't anything I would do in a day but, I got my 15k mile service done at J&L in Carlisle a few months ago, they told me they have no room to keep my bike for more than a few nights because there getting a rolling road installed soon and are in the mists of putting in a sound proof workshop, so hopefully by the start of the new season they will be done and I can take my bike there.
Not to put J&L down but there is a lot to understanding mapping and spark maps and breaking code on ecu 's,. Depends who operates it. For my mind only one person in the country has put the time and effort into this and has done well over 50 multi"s . Not every multistrada rider is on this or any forum at all, There is a rolling road just outside Carlisle anyway that works on bikes ,unless he has shut down. I have noticed you before and we live near each other , we could meet if you were interested. Seascale.
J&L getting a rolling road in eh? Have to have a run up when they have. And when they've drained all the water out of the showroom. Dewcati - is that your Pikes Peak I sometimes see in the car park at wuk?
I'm up for a meet. Done the Walney to Carlisle coast road a few time wish I'd of known there's a few of you up that way could have met up. Last time I looked on FB J&L got off lightly they said they only had an inch of water in the shop, Although I keep telling my wife an inch is a lot, to be fair it's not that deep in water depth.
Try Nelly above, Cornerspeed Nottingham must be far closer than Bristol and never hear any bad reviews
Cheers guys for the replies. I think i'll investigate the Cornerspeed option as i'm in Sheffield and it's the nearest.
Love the bike. I used to have a 2013 PP. Just to clarify.... The CJS remap (@CJS ) is the dogs bollocks and you do not need any other form of mapping?
For my money I'd back whatever Nelly is recommending personally. If he says rexxer is great then anybody would be foolish to think otherwise, the Americans have been using Rexxer for years on Ducatis if memory serves. Besides Nelly doesn't win accolades from Ducati UK for nothing and he knows far more about fixing Ducatis than anyone else I know (http://ducatiforum.co.uk/threads/well-done-cornerspeed.37808/) I had a cjs map on my previous multistrada which was fine, but admittedly at the time Nelly wasn't mapping them, now that he is that's where mine would go if I was to get another. It's entirely up to you though, tis your money after all and I'm sure either a CJS or Rexxer will make you happy.

Also CJS can alter other things which are helpful, He has lowered the temperature that my fans come on to keep it cooler and avoid problems of overheating. For those interested mine has 152 bhp @ 9327 rpm ,wheel and 91 ft/lb @7700rpm These are at the rear wheel figures ,most will make this some a little more depends on exhausts end can combo's . What you don't see in the figures is the drive you get ,you can run a gear higher driving out of corners and you dash won't vibrate off. It's a big bee twin ,use the torque Luke (sorry).
My 2010 MTS1200S had similar figures after a CJS remap. It's on here somewhere (forum search is useless - use google). Bike was awesome afterwards. 100% got rid of low end roughness http://ducatiforum.co.uk/threads/aircontechnical-info-for-you.12796/
Mine similar after the cjs tune (151+bhp) but I still don't doubt that the Rexxer could produce the same power, all things being equal obviously
Just been looking at the CJS site and you can't argue with their experience and i certainly wouldn't doubt what you guys are telling me. It's the low end lumpiness i want to eliminate, as much as possible as i understand that i've got a big twin, but Bristol is a very long way from me. Dewcati, your comment about vibration made me laugh as i have often thought the whole bike is going to shake its self apart when i'm in the wrong gear.
I think either system would be OK ,the key to all this is someone who know's what there doing I've done a bit of modifying cars and bikes in my time.....use the experts may be costly in the first place But saves a lot of heartache later.
If only Ducati made a motorcycle capable of crossing a continent. The perhaps the inn next to CJS would make a great over night(s) place to stay for a few days while their bike was getting remapped. I frequently did 400 mile days on my Multleys.
