899 Touring Tank Range.

  1. Just trying to get an idea of tank range of 899 (when touring) also general mpg in sports mode (just normal useage )

    Ta very much.

  2. I'm amazed how economical the 899 is, on a decent ( not too mental! ) run mine will turn in between 120 - 140 miles before the reserve light pings on.

You should easily see high 40's mpg wise, on one wet ride back home from wales it showed 54 mpg at the garage whilst filling up.

  3. Light was coming on every hundred miles on mine through France and Spain at toll road speeds

  4. There's a bike magazine article where I think the guy was getting 170/80 whilst cruising at motorway speeds.

  5. Aim for 135/40 and you should always have a bit left

  6. I do 50 miles a day to work and back and I wouldn’t even dream of trying to go anywhere after day two of filling up.

Also find my light come on after about 75-80 miles.

Nowere near as economicakl as my 675 was but then im not sure I expected it to be.

  7. Thanks guys for the information, so it seems range is a little less the my CBR 1000rr.

  8. On Scottish tours I've been getting 80-85 before the light comes on :(

    ;)

  9. krikey !! :astonished: to the stop !! :sunglasses:

  10. Fuel light seems to come on pretty early I've found. Around 110 miles usually. I've done nearly 160 miles without running out though.

  11. Average 150 per tank on a decent mixed run

  12. My fuel light comes on around 100 miles, I normally fill up around 110 but can normally only get 12 litre in it
