899 Which Frame Sliders?

Discussion in 'Panigale' started by RacingDuck, Jan 23, 2016.

  1. Which frame sliders do you guys use on your 899? Is RG the only usable kit?

    Thank's.

  2. I've got R&G on mine. Got the garage to fit them though as it looked a bit complicated to me. Not sure about other brands as I've always used R&G as they seems good quality parts.

  3. I've got a set of r&g sat in the garage if your intresred pm me

  4. I really like the look of the Spider engine protectors. Not so keen on the R&G ones personally and they look like a total ball-ache to fit. Think the spider protectors come in around the same price range as the R&G kit.

Also check out the T-Rex sliders. They look pretty substantial!

  5. Ah, maybe scratch that, the spider and T-rex kit won't go on the 899 :Banghead:

  6. Shit, the Spider looked awesome! R&G seems to be pia to install.....

  7. Have you seen the fitting instructions for the R&G kit? They're ridiculously complicated to fit! I'll take on most things, but I really couldn't be arsed to attempt fitting those.

Well it would go on if you swapped to the 1199/1299 magnesium engine covers, but that's a little extreme for the sake of an engine protector!

They look great though don't they. I'm looking at getting the clutch protector for mine soon. I already have a GB Racing protector on the other side.

  8. Never been a fan of R&G (rubbish & garbage?).
Spider kit looks simple to fit and imo complements the bike.

  9. But alas, won't fit the 899.

  10. GO for the T-Rex! I have them on my 899 and they look sick! Plus you can install them yourself! Others you have to take it to the dealer cause you have to work with the back suspension.
In addition, they offer excellent service over the phone.

  11. Hmm, why didn't I buy an 1199...:tearsofjoy:

  12. Actually T-rex makes a kit for the 899, I have it on mine.

  13. Any European T-Rex dealers? I search their website but couldn't find any to an 899. Do you maybe have a link?

  14. Thank you @MattM. Didn't see your posting.

  15. So shipped from the US including import charges ends up at around £190, cheaper than the R&G's, a whole lot easier to fit too. The pictures make it look pretty huge, wonder what they're like in the flesh?
