Hi, Can anyone tell me where the abs pump location is for the DVT? I see form earlier MS's its under the seat, on mine I have lots of wires and electronics. Im assuming its under there somewhere, but wanted to see if anyone had attempted to get to it and if they have any lessons to learn. I have bleed nipples that I would like to install on the banjo bolts. Regards Simon
On the DVT the ABS unit is mounted between the cylinders. It is just in front of the rear cylinder barrel on the left side of the bike and is bolted to a bracket on the inside of a frame tube (near your left knee). To access it you have to remove the fuel tank and the airbox first. The system is nothing like the ABS on the 2010-14 Multistrada. I fitted a bleed nipple to the rear ABS circuit on my 2011 Multi, but I have no intention of doing the same on the DVT since it is not necessary.
Hi Simon, the ABS control unit is located under the air box. It's on page 378 at workshop manual. You can download it (the workshop manual) from here
Many thanks for both replies. So glad I didn't just start pulling things out from under the seat. I appreciate your help. On the subject of the rear brake... Mine does work, but works better when I pump it, which kinda makes me think there might be some air in the system. If the pump is buried in this way, I don't think Ill be doing it for a while. Maybe one day, but its not a necessity now. Regards Simon
Johnson, have you tried the old dodge of suspending a heavy weight on your back brake lever overnight.
