Not done the route to Coverack, must try that one. Usually from Culdrose I'm headed to Porthleven then push on toward Penzance over to St Just then the north coast road (can be proper twitchy) through Zennor (maybe a quick half at Tinners) before onto St Ives. Back to Hayle, then after the ubiquitous Philps onto Gwithian, Portreath, Porthtowan, St Agnes and drop back into Perran is a nice run
I always enjoyed the A30 Penzance to Sennen. Coast road from Pendeen to St. Ives is probably best avoided as it is twisty and narrow. Pz to Sennen, stop for coffee etc at the cafe at far end of car park at bottom of hill down to Sennen Cove to take in the spectacular beach. Then back via St Just, Pendeen (B3306) and take road from Pendeen to Pz (B3318/B3071, should be a great ride. You could then take the road to St Ives over the top via Nancledra and Cripplesease (B3311) and then back to Hayle via Carbis Bay (B3074).
welcome, as jester says on ducatis owners club meets, other bike nights are in truro , lemon quay, also cornwall services near Indian queens , plymouth bike nights, always plenty going on, roll on the warmer weather, kev
Thanks fellas. I've just got in from my first ever Ducati ride... I'm in love. I timed it perfectly too, the rain started just as I rolled her back into the kitchen. Perfect! What temperatures are normal for a 1199? By chance I bumped into Royalwithcream at the petrol station too. If Sunday look dry I'll be heading to Perran on Sunday to meet the DOoC guys.
Nice to meet you Max The bike looked super clean, and reminded me how much sexier the Panigale is than the S1000RR not that I haven't had a massive amount of grins on my face with the BMW this last couple days. The 1199 gets noticeably hot when not wearing leathers although you shouldn't be seeing too high temps on the screen this time of year.
Your right coast road from Pendeen to St Ives is properly narrow in places but the scenary off your left shoulder more than makes up for a slower part of the route. I've done the Pendeen to Penzance (B3318/B3071) but in reverse, couple of interesting corners on that road... Your right about Sennen, though we parked up at the harbour end and headed up over the headland to the old coastguard lookout point for some homemade banana bread my mates mrs had brought with her, got a few odd looks seeing as we were all head to foot in bike gear
