Thought it might be useful to have a thread explaining a few useful tips, especially for new members and for others who might never have explored the site in order to discover some of the little timesaving, or just helpful shortcuts Most regular users will know these and many more, so please add to the list for those who might otherwise spend a few weeks of dipping in and out to find some of them... Here are four to start with: We often see the question, 'Whereabouts are you?' This can be found by clicking on the + sign next to contributor's name under their avatar, where this question will very often be answered, as the majority of members have entered a location into their profiles Rather than adhere to a single area of the forum, say, Multistrada, if you select either New Posts (updates manually), or Spy (updates in real time), you will get a very wide spectrum of conversations that very often overlap with your area of interest and may raise issues about which you could otherwise be unaware If there is a particular topic that you're interested in and you see that someone has contriuted 8 minutes ago, rather than click on the subject and go to the last page, to work though the posts to the latest contibution, click on the '8 minutes ago' under their name and it will take you to that post On a Windows PC, if you need to access your desktop, rather than minimise the forum and any other windows you might have open in the background, click on the extreme right of the bottom toolbar, to the right of the Time/Date (on most PCs)
I think most of the time people just converse with a newbie Hopefully it makes them feel easier about joining If we end up pressing plus signs and reading profiles there won't be a lot to say as we will already know
