Just had my 1st year oil Change service , rode it home . & now the fuel sensor warning light and engine management light has come on! My question is, is ok to ride with these lights on ! As I live an hour from the dealer . I'm pretty miffed to say the least cos it's half a day off work to get it done after riding down for the service!! Ta D
Wouldnt normally advise continuing to ride the bike with the engine management warning light on but having experienced the same thing, when coupled with the fuel sensor error message, it doesn't do any harm. Contact the dealer and log the fault then arrange to take it in at your/their convenience. You may find the fault comes and goes before eventually getting worse to the point it's on constantly. Then you'll need the fuel level sensor replacing. It's a common fault and replacement doesn't guarantee a permanent cure. I'm on my third!
Hi & Thanks for your replies , I eventually spoke with the dealer (who in my opinion need a little lesson in Customer care) who tells me if I choose to ride with the light on and it goes bang , it is at MY risk, and wouldn't be covered by the warranty. Therefore its got to be recovered by Ducati assist! So AA man turns up this morning to tow it , but tells me he needs to plug it in and find out whats wrong but doesn't know where the plug is or have any way of towing it! Oh and btw a they AA can't take it to the dealer who serviced it as its not my closest. so I have to ring the dealer tell them its not coming and then ring my closest one and get them to accept the broken bike.... 2nd AA man turns up which takes an hour to load it up and get on his way . What a ball ache ...... Absolutely no help from the main dealer who sold and serviced the bike in the first place ! Would it be too much to ask to have some kind of customer service from these guys who don't seem to care about the bikes or bikers that keep them in work ?? Victor Meldrew - Over & Out D
That is absolutely shocking on all counts, the fact that the dealer you bought it from did nothing to help, and also the fact that Ducati assist or the AA apparently didn't know it was a bike they were picking up. I hope it gets resolved quickly.
