  1. Please can anyone tell me the significance of the elephant embossed on the fuel cap. My 1996 916 has it but i notice other bike don't have it.
    Any ideas ?

  2. That was from the period when Ducati were owned by Cagiva. The elephant is the Cagiva trademark.

  4. The cartoon elephant is the symbol of the Republican Party. Are you a supporter of Donald Trump?

  5. I love the old Cagiva logos. My 900 Monster has them on a few bits.

  6. Simple really !
So what is ratio of Cagiva 916s to later bikes ?

  7. My 916 is a 98 bike with the later decals, (similar to the 996 without tank sticker and logo down the fairing sides) so anything after the Texas Pacific take over. Perhaps 97 onwards? I am sure more informed folks on her will put us in the picture.
