1199 Dash Changed Due To Steaming Up

  1. Had my clocks changed . Ducati have released a patch to sync up the mileage from the bbs unit ...

So new clocks with my original mileage .. Cool huh

  2. Depends on the mileage.....

  3. Was your bike out of warranty when they replaced the dash?

  4. glad they've now addressed this problem , main reason I'd never but a used 1199 could not trust any of the mileage and service records wonder how many are missing 15000 m service with s clock change n flogged on . 2 My pals traded bikes in told the dealers about mileage n click changes both were sold with new mileage and not disclosed actual mileage

  5. I got them to note down the warranty work in my service book and note the mileage, also asked them if they could note the mileage on the system so if anyone wanted to check they could confirm with the dealer.

  6. Just phone up main dealer with chassis number and they will tell you if it had a clock change, that's what I did and made sure all recalls are done, be stupid not to really.

  7. Did you find that it's missing a recall? I did mention I fixed one of the items on the recall list myself, didn't I?! I fixed the indicator issue by buying and fitting the additional wiring loom.

  8. I had a road test on the new R1 last year and they priced my pani up as well as my 98 R1 and because i had the clock replaced they would only offer me £7500 PX on the panni because they said it would affect resale ,i thought the offer was pretty low. R1 was nice but i just prefer the panni and also the R1 was way too tall for me. Plus me handing over two bikes and still needing to put up £6k didnt seem like a good deal lol :tearsofjoy:

  9. Yes Matt, the loom recall was missing but as you said you did it yourself with a receipt to prove, so was good enough for me,always worry about clock changes on the panini and multi a good dealer should confirm any issues.

  10. Ah cool, yeah there was a 6-week wait at the dealers to get it done but the problem was doing my head in! Bloody indicators wouldn't cancel and then once you re-started the bike the left indicator wouldn't work.

  11. I don't know we're dealers get there figures I was bid 7 k for my pani against a 1299 ended up crashing it insurance valued bike at 11300 I then followed the bike sale in crash damage site it sold for 8 k smashed up work that one out ! Ps r-1 nice if u got a death wish lol gear box say no more

  12. Bike was in warranty and mileage was 5k

  13. That's good. My clock steams up in this weather. Was yours all over the dash or just an oblong patch in the middle?

  14. My 1199s clocks steam up a bit but clear after a few minutes. Never obscures the readout etc so doesn't bother me. Should I be concerned and look to get Ducati to replace?

  15. If your bike is under warranty they will fix it for free. If not then it'll cost you the price of a new dash plus labour I guess, unless you can barter a deal with them considering it's a known issue. Annoyingly the chap who had my 1199 before me didn't bother getting it fixed, so I just lived with it. It was only really noticeable in the cold weather and cleared pretty quickly so I didn't worry about it.

  16. Thanks Matt... she's a 2013 so no chance of a freebie. I only get a blob in the middle of the display and it last a few minutes then clears. Unless the moisture could cause more permanent damage, I'll just leave it be.

It's a shame we don't live in the USA, I believe no matter how old a vehicle is, if enough people have a problem, we can all rock up to the dealers to have things fixed. I know Audi got their comeuppance regarding a poorly designed part. The dealers had people with 1997 A4's turning up demanding parts get replaced.
