Getting my new Mutley in 3 weeks so going to start the insurance troll around! Question does the 1200s come with an immobiliser and alarm as standard? Forgot to ask dealer but sure there was a flashing dash light on the demo bike when I had it out! Thanks in advance....
Immobiliser is standard on all Multistrada 1200s. There is an optional Ducati Anti-Theft System for the pre-DVT models (2010-1014) but there is no equivalent for the DVT models. I've not had one installed. I have used a Tracker on my previous bikes but it wasn't financially worthwhile on my DVT model. Don't forget to get a display protector and a radiator guard is a good idea. Loads of details and views on other accessories in this forum.
Thanks Steve, will just go with standard immobiliser. Got both on order with guards just hope I'm not buying a pig in a poke after years of jap bike no issues!
get a tracker ! i have bike track which i bought for £400 but its amazing !! 2 times my bike stolen and i receive my bike back in 2 hours by police ! plus you will get at least 10% off from insurance
How much are you paying per annum for your Tracker subscription? I had a trackstar fitted to my car for years, and it was crap, paid about £400 installation, but yearly subscription was about £120. After paying up for years, I got fed up, and when my insurance came up for renewal, I chose "no security" option, and guess what, the premium was cheaper. I phoned the insurer, and he explained that it was probably due to a different set of underwriters being available for the "no security" option. Cancelled my Trackstar, bought a steering wheel lock, and saved myself @ £200 per year
Tracker is the best no mater how man chains you put on they will get your bike if they really want to. but with tracker they can't even if they are they will get caught
