I'm looking at purchasing a 2016 MTS, GS or XR. The MTS is indeed an incredible bike, recently test ridden 1200s 2016 model, however I cannot believe that reliability could be a deciding factor based on reviews. So my question to this forum as owners of an MTS is this: Would you buy a MTS again? Yes/No Thanks
Yes. Test ride the GS and XR, and anything else that takes your fancy, and buy the one that your heart tells you. I test rode a Crosstourer DCT and S1000XR yesterday, both were very good bikes but neither is competition for a Multistrada for me. I have had several items replaced both in and out of warranty and I am currently waiting for a pair of heated grips to replace my failed second pair, but the bike has never let me down in over 16,000 miles. Life is too short to go for second best so go for whatever is best for you.
Try the new KTM GT thingy, looks really good, also would like to read on peoples thoughts on that bike, I would certainly buy another Multi if they (I have a DVT) if they added the things I wanted for the next model. Leave seat height alone, and make it more comfortable. Add tyre pressure indicators. Up/Down gear blipper quick shifter The new DVT engine that has gone into the Xdiaval. if those were addressed in the next few years I would probably but another one.
I plan on keeping my pre dvt multi for a many years. If I had to replace now it would be for another multi.
Yes, most definitely. This is the best bike I have ridden in 32 years of riding, and nearly as many different bikes, on road, on track days and off road...And this is after the clutch master cylinder leak (120 miles), dash upgrade and fuel tank sender failures all in less than 2000 miles. I'm not brand snob having owned all the major ones and most of the minor ones, including GasGas, but the 2015 MTS just makes me smile every time I ride it. It even passes the look back test with flying colours. I'm going to BSB at Silverstone tomorrow and am looking forward to the 400 mile round trip almost as much as the racing.
Only had my 2011 Sport S since November but think in all honesty its the best bike I have ever had. Talked a Buddy into looking at one this afternoon too.....
Nothing wrong with the one I've got so don't foresee changing any time soon. Would I buy a DVT ? Nope, love the pre twin spark engine far too much to accept the compromise. Andy
Undoubtedly. The GS and XR are bags of nails compared to the Multi. And BMW reliability is not good. The Multi is a better bike, and is as, if not more, reliable than the BMWs, so it's an easy answer.
Yes , on my second and the dvt is still a decent bike , do bits go wrong.....yup , but they do with all the others too
Yes - the current DVT is my 3rd Multi. Just make sure you buy from and get it serviced at "Good" Dealer that you can trust to sort any niggles and that does a very thorough PDI check.
Top trumps I'm afraid boys.:Angelic: On my 2nd & 3rd Mutlistrada Pikes Peak and my fourth Mutlistrada (first one was the MTS1200S). Love them ....simply the best all round bikes I've ever had. +50K miles with loads of smiles. I just don't like the look of the DVT and given all the post production testing / rectification I've done on the others I wanted someone else to take the strain on the MK3 version.:Shamefullyembarrased: Note 2014 PP is back into Snells on Friday for a new fuel sender... PS The MTS1200S with a CJS remap/ hi flow air box and decat is 10-15% up on power compared the rest of my bikes.
Yes, without hesitation. I liked my 2011 MTS enough to buy a 2015 DVT when they came out. They are both great, although very different bikes.
