Lil Monster Wanted

Discussion in 'Wanted' started by chizel, Apr 7, 2016.

  1. Hi all...
    A friend of mine is after a little monster (600/620) he has a budget of around £1500.00
    He wants something mechanically sound with an mot, doesn't mind if it needs a lil cosmetic work but, like all of us, he obviously wants the best he can get for his coin!!!
    Anyway if anyone on here has some thing that fits the bill or knows of a bike that does, please get in touch.
    Cheers

  2. You're a little monster but probably too cheap :):smileys:

    Will keep my eye out...

  9. Just wanted to bump this... spoke to Steve at JHMC today... he seemed like a nice enough chap but then most dealers do!!! anyone had any dealings?

  10. NOPE no dealings with these people. But I spoke to Steve today nice guy and a really OK bike but too expensive and no room for manoeuvre on the price. The bike has lots of corrosion on the engine paintwork so while it is a one owner bike it looks like it has not been looked after well and kept in a warm dry garage. Probably put away wet or stored in the back garden or something like that. Shame really as it would probably need the engine out for a full repaint.

  11. I take it you went there then? its very hard to tell in the pics how bad the engine paint is. I told my mate to expect a bit as its the norm but from what you are saying its more than that!

  12. nope but had a long chat with Steve and he sent me some pictures of the corrosion it was all over the place and looks quite bad and not easy to fix without an engine out and strip down and repaint {just my view of course and worth the same amount as you paid for it}

  13. ahhh... well i rang my mate this morning to let him know that she's a bit ugly but he'd already put a deposit on it.. unseen... he says he's gunna ride it for summer and engine out in winter.. just hope its mechanically sound..

  14. WOW must have done that yesterday as Steve was looking for a deposit from me. One owner but NOT LOVED as a Ducati should and needs to be, is my reading of this and at the top end plus of what I would want to pay for one in sparkling tip top condition and they want £1,900 minimum. IF you can give me your mates email addy I will send the pictures. They are not spectacular in quality terms as they were taken on an iPhone OR ask your mate to ask Steve to send the pictures of the corrosion

  15. well my mate picked up the bike on saturday and as mentioned on another thread we went for a ride out on sunday. apart from the flakey paint on the engine, which for a 14 year old naked duke is to be expected, the bike is immaculate and rides as new.
    full belt service and new fluids, battery, tires and 12 month mot gotta be around £700 so at £1900 and nothing to do but touch up the engine paint (and fit some decent end cans!) i think he's done good.
    yes you may be able to pic up a tidyish one for a few hundred less but may have to do the service and what not as well and the chance of finding a duke without flakey engine paint is about as likely as finding a pair of sharks eyebrows...
