Hi Had the dvt a week now. 2nd hand from riders bridgewater. When I collected it the engine management light was on. They took it to the workshop and cleared the fault. Rode 200 miles home - very happy no issues. Washed it the next day light came on. Went for a spin, after about 20 mins or so it stayed on. Used the bike mid week for a run to southport no issues. Yesterday no issues out on the A49. Washed it last night and the bloody lights on again. Flashing again. So would you go out today or call it in and back to dealer?
Back to the dealer I'd say. It's ok feeling confident its nothing to worry about, then when it shuts down mid corner, or engine stops whilst miles from home out in the sticks, then the dealer option would have felt like the right decision It's a pain in the ass I admit but leaving it could make things worse
Aren't riders open on a Sunday? Why don't you call them and say you'll ride your bike there and take one of theirs whilst they sort it? Cheeky but worth a try surely?
Could be sensor going down, flapper valve, anything. Agree, if it doesnt stop it running or scream stop, I wouldnt worry too much until you get it back to the dealer
If it were me, I'd like the Dealer to read the fault log, and explain what the problem is? Presumably their diagnostic equipment can manage that, but then again..
I had a few check engine lights come on with my DVT. Hasn't happened since the fuel level sensor was replaced.
Thanks for the replies gents, been out for a long walk and a couple of ales of course to take my mind of it, ready to watch the Moto GP now and I will be calling Ducati assistance tomorrow to take it away......watch this space
Ok fault found - its the rear lambda sensor, part on order so fingers crossed might get some of the weekend on two wheels
brand new bike, after 20 miles light comes on . Bike rides ok and feels ok. Very worried obviously but dealer goes through a num,ber of questions then says it's probably ok to ride. Next day on long ride out, light goes out and after 500 miles hasn't been back on since. Dealer will check next week at 600 mile service. I presume the bike keeps a log of these events, it bloody well should do given that you need a degree in computer science to change any settings on the bike!!
I'd be interested to know what the fault is recorded as pls? This is my first plunge into the world of Ducati and so far isn't going so great. I really hope I can extend the warranty!
