1200 DVT Any Dvt Owners Tried An Mv Turismo Veloce?

  1. In fact the Lusso does have integral GPS, it's a common misconception as it tends to mention this in the spec. and then show a picture of a fully kitted out bike with the optional Garmin. people then draw the incorrect conclusion that the Zumo is included when it's not.

The integral GPS only records a tracklog to the datalogger. When activated this records your ride which you can download to your phone or tablet (only Apple supported ATM I'm sorry to say) along with a host of other metrics.

Pikes Peak is a lovely bike, at around an extra £5k and thus more expensive to insure, not for me, sorry.

All academic now; wife approval, insurance approval, finance approval. Tick, tick, tick. The MV will shortly be mine. Matches my needs and desires better than the Mutley and just too good a machine to pass up. The disruption to the supply chain is likely going to cause availability issues over the coming months and with a Picos tour arranged for end of June just had to pull the trigger. Spares delivery from the factory and warranty claims process has apparently restarted. Giovanni Castiglioni must have done a deal of some sort or the banks have cut him some slack.

  2. I have to admit, I looked at one of these close-up at the NEC back in December 2015 and I was very impressed indeed and they seem to be seriously worth a look.:Nailbiting:
There's a dealership near me in Salisbury and I am planning on taking a ride over, if nothing else to park my PP in their yard, but mainly to have run-out to see what they are really like to ride.

Could be the 2017 Mutley replacement!!!:Bag:

  3. hi all i cant believe i am just reading this on this forum as i am looking for MV seriously. for the last year have been lucky enough to own a 1200s DVT which has been pleasure and pain to ride. So how we couldn't melt together (get on together) with multi. Didn't have major big problems but had little silly things. Multi is no longer is a quality build bike for me its just not there. fuelling is spot on however 37 mpg two up in the city and 42 mpg two up in the motorway still too much. and you cant really use all the horses anyway the bike is far too high from the ground, at the high speed it isn't very steady getting the multi to the corners isn't as easy as a BMW XR the bike doesnt feel as planted. I wish the finishing quality a little more improved by ducati. And there is weight also somebody talk about comfort ? i was more comfortable on a ZX14r on motorway. All in all its a great bike however its not as great as price tag. i am still considering a more smaller bike. MV semms to have a great package with this bike, as well as i find the fuel consumption still too high for a 800 new generation purpose build touring bike (45mpg) thats not my worry. i heart in some reviews that the bike is actully taller then multi , is this true? and the users of MV turismo will you say it has a wind protection may be alittle better then multi ? almost feel like if the bike is not that tall and the wind protection is ok its a perfect allround bike for me ! i commute full season and some litle touring and also sunday blast sometimes. it seems like MV fits. latest est ride i have was a 2016 Triumph 1050 Speed Triple R with all ride by wire but the bike was too rigit and i can say it wasnt feeling very nice on of throttle! but for 11500 you get full ohlins light bike, 52 mpg, good looking , 4 riding maps bike. and its alot bike for this money. i must try and see how is MV

  4. TanCakar, the Turismo Veloce is, as far as I can recall from my test rides on both (a few weeks apart), as tall as the Multistrada. In other words it is tall, hopefully I'll develop a knack, either that or have a hip replacement...

The engine characteristic is totally different as it would be with a V twin vs. an IL triple. The TV engine is very willing and the power deficit compensated somewhat by the lighter weight.

Handling is sharper I would say, the Lusso has Sachs SkyHook suspension which is slightly different in terms of setup to the Multistrada but very effective.

Quality of finish and design is superb and durability of finish according to owners I've spoken to (some ext Multi owners) is better.

Reliability wise; the only issue I could find that seemed to not be a one off was the sprag clutch on the starter failing on a few bikes. According to my local dealer this has now benefited from a revised part on recent new bikes and retrofitted to any older ones with the issue. That's it.

Wind protection is adequate, the adjustable screen does make a difference for me at 6'.

Apparently fuel consumption isn't too bad if you use the touring map, 200 miles from a tank. If that was a concern to me I'd ride something smaller and less sporty. In Sport mode it does diminish somewhat.

I suggest that you arrange a test ride and see for yourself, nothing to loose.

Collect my Lusso tomorrow afternoon :grinning:

  5. Saw one of these last time I was at Box Hill. Looked good. I'm having such problems with my multi that the wife even thinks I should get rid.

  6. I posted this on the MV Forum:-

Like most of you I've hit the half century (and you ain't far off red800!)
Also tall @ 6ft2 my long legs do touch the side pods when using the pedals
so that's one thing to sort before I would buy one. And I am waiting for all the teething problems to be sorted and the price to come down first. Same as AHA - Actually I've owned several Multi's 1000,1100S, changed to an
SMT990 and then went back to A 1000S modified which I've owned for 5years and it's THE best bike I have ever had! (owned in excess of 100 bikes). Sorry guys but I'm just about to buy a Multi 1200S with all the teething probs sorted and see how that goes for this season. My second bike is a Husqvarna Nuda which is up for sale and the Multi 1000 will take it's place nicely as it's set up for scratching with the Ohlins, sticky rubber and upgraded Brembos!

OK, now I have the 1200 Multi I know that ALL the teething problems are
not sorted! Really I think whether you buy new or used it matters not, bikes are under continual development and we're part of it!

  7. Rode the Turismo Veloce Lusso at the weekend and it's a very nice machine. Feels a fraction taller than my '10 1200S but otherwise a tiny machine. Full writeup here but, in short, great suspension and ride, lovely neutral handling and a strong mid-range but lacking the visceral steam catapult effect of the single-spark Multis. Great piece of kit though.
