  1. Moved it out the garage...then in...then out again...then in...and thats what its all about.

  2. Did 130 miles on mine yesterday, around the fantastic roads in North Wales. On the way home I thought I will just take the long way round, boy did I regret that..... Nice rear wheel puncture and a 2.5 hour wait to be recovered.

  3. Had first service thisd week so took the DB killer out of the termi. Fitted old but very loud fiamm horn. Refitted the seat rails to raise the seat a bit. Got peed off cos it then started hooning it down....

  4. I took my Multi out on some excellent twisty back roads (Ranmore Common etc) to Box Hill, where I saw a guy drop his Honda thing with his girly on the back as he lost balance riding out of the car park. Minimal damage and no injuries thankfully. There were a couple of new Africa Twins parked up - common as muck - they look quite cool if a bit "weedy". I had a coke and Eccles cake before repeating the same route in reverse and enjoying my bike immensely, generally pwning everything in my path.

  5. Nice run down to Cornwall (Milton Keynes to Newquay); 270 miles, about 6 hours in the saddle, just under 8 hours door to door (B4031 / A361 / B3227 / A39). Good weather all the way.

Back tyre (PR4) worn nearly to the wear indicators after only 2,300 miles. Might try a set of Angel GTs next.

Used an AirHawk pad as I find the standard seat uncomfortable on long runs. Debating if I should splash out on a Touratech comfort seat.

  6. Fantastic route with good weather. Nice one! I'm debating the seat thing too.
I've just put a set of the new Metzeler 01s on mine. New tyres always tend to feel great, but these are superb so far. Really impressed. They're doing a £30 money back offer at the minute. Might be worth looking at them?

  7. nice run

but you must be 50st or running at 130mph everywhere to wear it out that quickly!

  8. wheeled out the garage, looked at the state of it after the last ride, prayed to God that the ACF is working well...noticed how dry and rusty the chain was so lubed it...put it back.

    until tomorrow ;)

  9. OK fair cop; I'm nearly 17st and most of the miles were done in the Pyrenees last September (solo but the panniers were loaded).

  10. Just got to livigno in italy via two swiss passes. Snow 4ft high on side of road but roads fab. Germany tomorrow. Full termi with baffle out giving large in tunnels. Yes im smiling.

  12. Repaired a crack at the bottom of my fairing, and made up 2ally straps to replace cracked lugs under fairing.

  13. 245 miles via marlborough there and cotswolds back in the end, after a wet start it soon became scorchio.

And after 2000 miles, its clear to me this bike is too sanitised and easy to live with. It lacks that raw fun edge of the last Multi, and imho it no longer is like a sports bike, so its now just 1 bike in 1...also starting dragging my stand a bit today and frazzled my rear tyre

  14. Got a cracking 3-day 700 mile trip planned, starting tomorrow, up to the North Yorkshire Moors.

    Happy days! :upyeah:

  15. :kissingclosed:

  16. Ride home from Cornwall (Newquay to Milton Keynes), 270 miles: A39 / B3227 / A361 / B4031. The wet roads in Cornwall & Devon (A39 & B3227) saved some rear tyre wear but meant I had to wash the bike when I got home. New set of tyres (PR4s) booked for Monday. Comfort seat on order and the 42 tooth rear sprocket is waiting to be fitted.

While I was with my folks in Cornwall, I finished the routes for a tour of Corsica in early July:
    • Using Bikeshuttle to have bike and riding kit shipped from Northampton to Geneva. Fly out using EasyJet and pickup the bike the next morning.
    • Ride to Nice, with overnight stay in Briancon, via a few passes (e.g. Col du Galibier & Col de l'Izoard)
    • Overnight ferry to Bastia
    • 8 days around Corsica, taking in Calvi, Ajaccio, Bonifacio, Corte and back to Bastia. Some off days to take in the rays and do the sights
    • Overnight Ferry to Nice
    • Ride back to Geneva, with a couple of nights in Grenoble, via a couple of passes and a stretch of the Route Napoleon
    • Drop off the bike, fly back to UK and pickup the bike from Northampton the nest day
    • About 1,200 miles with the longest day being 200 miles (Nice to Grenoble), so the wife will be happy. No motorways so I'll be happy.

  17. Very nice Steveb123, you must do a holiday thread. I've just insured my 1200enduro for picking it up next week, starting to get excited.

  18. Saw that my rear tyre was shagged so popped out and got it replaced. Like for like with a Pirelli Scorpion Trail - I am quite happy with them and the rear has done 5200 miles which is pretty good.

Guildford Tyres were good as usual. No issues with rear wheel removal - they just used an airgun and it was fine. The spindle was greased but the faces of the hub and wheel weren't, but now are.

  19. Trail 2 or 1?

I really liked the trail 1 and replaced with trail 2. The 1's got a bit slippery right at the end of life for me (rear snaking on the brakes etc...). 2's did the same but closer to their end of life anyway. Love the tyres though and I think I'll stick with them again after this set of Maxxis (great tyre but not got the life of the scorps).

  20. It doesn't say "1" or "2" on the sidewall, but the tread pattern looks different to the previous one so I'd guess it's a "2".

Millions of bloody cyclists around Surrey today. Huge groups of them generally getting in the way of everyone. I don't mind the odd one or two, but when you've got to get past a group of 30 then another group of 30 then another group of 20 etc it really starts getting on my tits.
