Hi can anybody tell me why I have a vibration on the bike 821 mon, I can feel it in the bars, and it gave me pins and needles, but I could also feel it in the foot pegs, not had any recent work and front tyre looks ok with good tred depth
Remind me, I recall that you are possibly new to biking? You have to get use too your bike, sometimes you're hands need to learn too accept the vibrations. Stretch your hands & flex feet regularly & you will be able to over come these momentary issues.
Hi yeah new but I've done about 1800 miles on it, and it felt different two rides ago? Been on two track days but it's never felt like this before, any ideas
If you suspect its an actual change in engine conditions, take it too an engineer bud. Thought you were noting your bodies reaction rather than specific change to your bike.
Maybe a dumb question but have you adjusted the chain in the time you've had the bike? Chain tension and wheel misalignment can cause vibrations similar to those you describe. You'll find you'll need to check AND clean/lube the chain every couple of hundred miles, especially if you do trackdays. The v-twin is great at stretching chains with it's low down torque and acceleration and so needs a bit more care than a four. Start with the easy stuff like that first and as has been mentioned, allow for the fact that v-twins will never be as smooth as a four, that's what we call character!
Hi no not adjust anything and chain looks good, booked it in as I think there's something wrong, cheers
My gut feeling is fuel / cylinders need balancing........does that occur with the fuel injected models? I'm a carb man, me.....
That would be the next step for me, although you can only really balance them at the idle position. As soon as they are off the stop by any amount the ECU takes over the fuelling.
That's what I thought someone might tell me........but if they are way out at idle, are they out at a higher rev range despite the ECU?
If you are relatively inexperienced and new to Ducatis, perhaps its best to take it to the dealer and ask someone there to take it for a spin, see what they think, if there's something wrong like an engine mounting bolt that's coming loose, they should be able to diagnose the problem and put it right.
