I'm enjoying my new Multistrada, I was expecting the Ohlins forks to be something special, but they suffer from stiction, (I'm 13 1/2 stone too), I've backed of the spring and opened the compression damping by 15 clicks, but still doing it, if I sit forward it improves but this isn't comfortable for any length of time. Other than that it's great, excellent mpg too, 55 last time, fast A road stuff.
Thanks Lumpy and Streetfighter, Unknown servicing, mileage is 22k. I was thinking I would try slackening off the pinch bolts on the fork bottoms, then bounce it a few times and see how it is. If that fails I'll try fresh 5w oil.
My bike has 24k and I've changed the seals and oil several times. I always use a quality 7.5W suspension fluid and adhere to the workshop manual as regards air-gap/reassembly. No performance problems even though I'm now using a different brand of seal to the Ohlins as they kept leaking. My bet is they probably just need to have the fluid changed and put back together properly and yes important the pinch bolts need to be done up last after settling the bike on the forks with them loose. Best Lumpy
