  1. My Low mileage (11k) 2006 ST3 is now for sale. It has a full service history. All books / manuals. Red and black keys. 3 x pannier keys.

Had new oil, filter and magnetic sump plug less than 100 miles ago, April 2016. MOT to December 2016. No advisories. New battery last December too.

Really comfortable bike. Goes well. Panniers come off easily, then you can have some fun :)

Has a few age / wear related marks, so it's not perfect, although I'm just being honest and picky. See 12 x photos just uploaded.

Bike is in Shepperton, TW17. Near M25 junctions 11 or 13.

M3 junction 1 at Sunbury where it meets A316 in to London nearby.

I will put it on here first, then if the phone doesn't ring, its going on commercial sites.

I'm on 07766 710510. Happy to listen to sensible offers.

    Thanks, Ray.

  2. I think without a price it turns this forum into something resembling ebay .

    Just saying [emoji41]

  3. Please price it :)

  4. Thanks for the comment D4ve.

I can't agree with you on that one ... Here's why:

eBay has a classified adverts section where it does what it says on the tin, apart from having the additional feature of "make an offer" or similar wording.

I have asked people on here to contact me if they're interested, so my ST3 doesn't have a price until someone comes to see it and a mutually acceptable price is agreed in person. Not sure how that resembles eBay?

eBay is obviously better known for an auction. Mine is not on here as an auction, so doesn't resemble eBay.

How is my wishing to generate interest from fellow Ducati enthusiasts on here resembling eBay, or have I missed something?

Keen to hear your points of view?

    Cheers,

    Ray.

  5. Ray

I'm interested in the bike, but I certainly won't be coming all the way to see the bike without any idea at all of what you expect/hope to get for it.

  6. Thanks Crystaljohn, it's great to see that you're interested.

    Please call me to discuss.

Like I've put in the text on here, I'm on 07766 710510. I don't bite

  7. Agree, post what you would like for it, it gives would-be buyers a clear idea where to start.
Otherwise potential buyers will just run around out bidding each other until you put a stop to it by excepting a value that suits...( bit like an auction)
Good looking bike though and all the best with the sale.

  8. I'm surprised to see such an outpouring of "name your price" type posts. Wasn't expecting that, hence trying to encourage those genuinely interested to call me to discuss it one to one more civilly.

It's first come first served with the cash - I'm not keen on people outbidding each other. It doesn't make for a nice selling or buying experience.

£3,250 is the price for those keen on it. Please call to discuss

  9. @SurreyST3Owner - members have asked that people advertise with their price. I don't think that's unreasonable. It helps attract genuine buyers and stops offers of packets of wotsits and a blackbird egg.

  10. Okay, I was surprised to see that they have that attitude despite them liking the look of it. One started, the rest followed. Seemed like it upset them, but none were interested, so why bother doing that???

Nobody bothered to actually pick up the phone, or send a text confirming their interest. Same with any genuine interest via message on here.

I'm a decent guy, been on the web since day one, almost, so know my way around it. Had my own company website for way too long too. This kind of felt unusual the way it happened earlier.

I may have been keen on a blackbird egg out of curiosity, but not wotsits :grinning:

  11. So my Sherbet Dib Dab is a no go then?

  12. Now that's what I call temptation!!

  13. The reason why nobody probably got in contact is because it's hard to even start trying to buy something with a starting price.

When people don't price an item is either because

    1. They are trying to catch a unsuspecting punter and get more than it's worth.

2: they genuinely have no idea what it's worth. In which case eBay it or ask on here or another forum for advice before advertising.

    3. It's such a rare and desirable item that it's very awkward to price as it's subjective to so many factors. Ie the very top super cars at top dollar.

Imagine a world where every item was price on application. It'd make life very hard.

  14. To address your points.
    1. Doesn't apply to me.
    2. Took me to many sites to gauge it, so priced it. £3250
    3. Are you sure?

  15. Not wanting to criticise in any way, but this is my situation. I live in France and my wife would like an ST3. It would be easier to buy from the UK as I have funds sitting in a bank in the UK. I am not sure what prices bikes go for over there but know that they are cheaper than over here. An advert with no price and just a mobile number switches off our interest as we would not know if it were £2000 or £5000 and our phone package does not let us call overseas mobile numbers.
Your bike looks absolutely fantastic and I am sure that she would love it but just a bit over the money that we have in the UK. Best of luck with selling it.

  16. Ah, that articulation is easier to deal with and helps, so thanks for your input, it is appreciated.

I thought £3250 ovno is a reasonable price, don't you?

  17. As far as I can tell it is a great price, just a little too much for me, but about 70% of what you expect to pay for the same bike on French plates over here!

  18. No problems. Thanks anyway.

  19. Or maybe the OP is a marketing genius?

Put a price and the thread disappears in 2 days off of everyones radar

Or don't put a price initially and everyone loses their shit and keeps bumping it up until someone buys it.

    Genius.

  20. How does that work then? If you don't want to buy an ST3 would you change your mind because the thread is active and see many replies? If you do want an ST3 would you let this one fall off your radar?
I see this as an advert from a fellow forum member offering a bike to other forum members. If the OP wants loads of publicity then then I would think that one of your MCN or autotrader sites would get more.
