i'm going to France in three weeks with some friends. We intend (against my better judgement) to go camping. Having got the basics - (2 man tent with awning, sleepimg mat, sleeping bag), we need to find some campsites. We are going to and from Caen, Tuesday to Saturday. We intend to go down to La Rochelle and then head east. Does anyone know of any recommended campsites, or a good web site that lists good campsites? Also, any recommended routes or places to visit are welcome. Thanks, Mike
For camping there is a great campsite near Aubenas in the Ardeche, it is on the river at Valon. If you are passing this way and want any help with anything then feel free to let us know, we are 20km SE of Perigueux in the Dordogne. If you look at our facebook page at www.facebook.com/dordognebikers, the banner at the top is a local to us campsite that is very popular with visiting bikes. The choice is yours.
Went there couple years ago but stayed in hotels or gites!! Fab roads this may be of use Auvergne motorcycle circuit
