  1. Thanks for that. It would be even more helpful if you could provide links to the items you mention ...

  2. Sure, you can buy the housings and crimps, its no secret that they are JST connectors, but most people will not have the correct crimp tool.
I use these connectors, and have the correct crimp tool, so can supply the lead if people don't have it (dave said his is not present).
I really don't mind if people want to buy and do themselves. I'm just helping those that don't have the means or technical ability to do it themselves.

If you intend to change those housings, buy the correct tool to remove the crimps from the housing, or you will most likely snap them off. Unless of course you get very creative with a dremmel...

  3. Sorry. Doing it from my phone so links are a bit fiddly. These are male and female connector shells. You will also need the pins. On the desktop site it will give a link to theit e-catalogue which has all the parts together. The phone only shows a cut down version of the site.

I can't 100% confirm these are the right ones so you may want to wait a few days till mine arrive.

  4. Your offer will no doubt be the most practical solution.

I needed one for my forks a spent quite a while trying to work out what they were so just posting for future reference.

Thanks for tip ref the tool, will get one ordered.

    Found some crimp jaws too.

  5. Be aware, that crimp frame also needs the crimp tool to hold it.

    Have fun :)

  6. Just to confirm, the JST connectors I mentioned above are the correct ones, both for the USB (2 pin) and Ohlins forks (4 pin). Finding the Ohlins one just saved me the cost of a new loom! As John W says you need crimp tools etc so he will probably be your best source unless you are very handy with needle nose pliers and a soldering iron (luckily i have a crimp tool that will do, even though not the exact one required)

  7. Hi John, I was wondering if I could take up your offer, I have gone to fit a sat nav and again the previous owner has removed it. Hoping you can help or I may cut of the connector and solder straight onto the wires but would prefer to leave alone as Mr Ducati intended.

  8. Peter, sorry for the delay in responding. It's always best to pm me as I sometimes don't look on the forum every week.

Sure I can supply you a lead, just send me a PM with what it is your after.
    Cheers,
    John.

  9. Thanks for the offer John but I have sorted it, I cut the plug off and soldered the wire's to the usb plug directly.
