1200 DVT Recalls

Discussion in 'Multistrada' started by broke, May 24, 2016.

  1. Does anyone happen to have a full list of recalls and updates for the DVT, picking mine up next week and I want to check every thing has been done.
What a question to ask about a new bike :(

  2. With it being brand new it should get the ecu flashed on the PDI mine was last month when I picked it up! in fact they did a second update that came in on the Saturday I was getting my hand over  all been spot on no issue but can't tell you any "list" of updates. Only recall I'm aware of was the side stand issue but if it's a 2016 bike shouldn't be an issue.

  3. There arent many afaik. I havent had any, there is a new firmware update for ecu (as above) and some fuel sensors have failed

  4. There is a sidestand recall.

Other than that, they will put a new ECU update on for you if you take it in, and may do a fuel level sensor change.

  5. Mine didnt need it so its not all bikes just a few very early

  6. Cheers lads. Is there any way I can check that these things may or may not have been done ?
To be honest, certain things have led me to be not overly confident in the dealer.

  7. I think that you should be able to tell the fuel level sensor version from the info printed on the cable. If you lift the front seat you'll see the sensor poking downwards out of the rear of the tank, with a single cable coming from it and a big nut screwing it into the tank. On mine, which has been replaced, the numbers are:

    SN 00006214
    592.1.120.10
    22/09/15
    29.0683.0000

The sidestand - no idea as mine looked exactly the same.

The ECU should be updated automatically by the computer that they plug into the bike. You can ask the dealer for a printout of the bike "status" from this computer and this will tell you the versions of each component and whether an update is required or not. If they've PDI'd it, then it will be fine. You can always ask to see the screen of the dealer's computer thing to verify and confirm that there are no outstanding updates - you're paying a shed-load of money so get them to do what you need.

  8. Sorry to be pedantic, but I suspect that when you give the Ducati part number as
    592.1.120.10
    you may mean
    592.1.021.1D.

  9. That is highly likely as I was reading by torchlight.

  10. Thank you tobers, I appreciate it.

  11. And thank you Pete1950, for saving me from what might have been a bout of fisticuffs at the dealers :Shamefullyembarrased:
