I bought an 848 two weeks ago and it broke down after 25 miles. The dealer said they would get it sorted as apparently it needs a complete engine rebuild. They won't even return my calls now. Where do I stand on this one? they told me it had one previous owner but just got logbook back and I'm the sixth owner!! Where do I stand on this one. Ps I still want a ducati! I'm sorry to hear that mate! Your first call should be to trading standards and your local county court. Now here's your ace in the pocket... Do you still have the advert in any form? If you do and it clearly states one previous owner, you'll also have the dealer for false advertising. If the dealer wont return your calls, send everything in writing via recorded delivery and email also. You must not let anyone else touch or attempt to fix the bike yet as this could weaken your position. I'd be looking to hand it back for a full refund. Best of luck.
Another lad on here had the same problem with an 848....long story short he got all his money back.... Sent from my SM-P900 using Tapatalk
Advert was on Gumtree and it was the salesman that told me about previous owners this is probably the biggest dealership in the country will ring them again tomorrow and if I get no joy will have to take it further. Cheers Sent from my E2303 using Tapatalk
There's some really good lads on here... Throw up your own thread in the general area.... I watched the thread and slowly but surely everything fell into place and the dealer ended up on the back foot. Sent from my SM-P900 using Tapatalk
That sounds a bit dodgy Mick... Big dealers very rarely, if ever advertise on Gumtree??? Someone correct me if I'm wrong. I'm not saying there is anything wrong with buying privately or from a small trader. Did you view, test and purchase from a retail building? i.e. a showroom?
