  1. I have 2 regrets in life, the first to do with one that may have got away, the second selling my '00 748s 15 years ago. I've been hunting around for a while and set myself a max budget which put most of the living room queens out of reach. I also spent a few weekends going to look at bikes advertised as mint which turned out to be sheds. I found this one on Friday. (One young man in particular should really have a wooden leg and a parrot perched on his shoulder for the £4.5K asking price of his particular example.)

Anyhow, the balance in the universe has been reset..slightly older than I'd have liked but; a fair few boxes were ticked as soon as I met said steed and the owner who in my view has undertaken a fairly comprehensive restoration which may alienate the purist but appealed to me instantly.

    Detail of work carried out includes;
    Cam belts and pulley bearings
    New clutch plates (aluminium)
    New stainless clutch springs
New Brake pads front and rear
New Michelin Pilot Powers tyres front and rear
    New Ohlins rear spring
    New DID gold chain
    New front sprocket
New main wheel nuts front and rear
    New Brake and clutch levers
    New Yuasa battery
New brake reservoirs front and rear (Brembo)
    New clutch reservoir
    New DZUS fairing fixings
New clutch slave (uprated to later version)
    New double bubble screen
    New grips
New upper and lower chain guides
    New fuel filler cap
All filters replaced – fuel, air and oil
New bushes and seals where required
New gaskets on all engine covers and cases
Polished Stainless Steel Leo Vince full SBK exhaust system with removable baffles.
Crankcases and clutch cover finished in hydro-dipped carbon fibre.
    Sprocket carrier polished
Carbon fibre heel plates and exhaust guard (Ducati Corse)
Carbon fibre hugger and chain guard
    Carbon fibre clock surround
Performance brake lines front and rear
    All fasteners now stainless steel
    New lightweight clutch basket
    New clutch spider HDESA Racing
    Gold frame bungs

We agreed a price both of us were happy with and she arrives Friday for the occasional weekend blast, track day and daily garage admiration.
