Carbon Or Not

  1. I don't like the look of carbon on a bike - are there any recommended alternatives for chassis accessories?

    Like black matt, lightweight, non-plastic.....

Or am I in cloud-cuckoo land?

  2. Its the texture - I like a smooth finish, but, yes, painting could just be what I have to do.

  3. buy carbon and paint.

  4. I don't like too much of it and cheap stuff doesn't age well. It fades in the sun and ends up looking like dirty cloth.
As long as its good quality what about mat carbon?

  5. I've got a carbon faired bike 1098 ... Brought a full set 2nd hand in the end as new are very prices... Looks very nice to be fair.. It's lighter due to this. I do however feel a few more vibrations.. But all part of the v twin ownership :) .. I do miss polishing the hell out of it sometimes & have though about getting it painted, so I could get my polish on lol..

I've not seen another one around fully carbon faired, so it adds to the exclusivity

  6. Yes it's the fibre, and mat carbon looks ok. Like the new carbon lids going around though.

  7. What about lacquered plain weave carbon? You can polish that.

  8. Matt plain weave looks like flat black from about 6 feet.
