After only riding it approx 1000km, something wrong happens to my 916s (97mod); It starts with no problems, and the first 10-15 minutes of riding is completely problem free. But then, the engine starts to "choke", for example in 60 mph with 4-4500 rpm, it feels like i am running out of gas anytime... the engine does`t "die" or stop, but it continues to fire-misfire-fire-misfire until i decide to stop. If i wait until the engine is cold, it starts with no problems, runs nice the first 10 min and then the same story as over..... Suggestions? Could it be coil/spark plugs/filters? Ps; i have had problem free riding the first 900km i have owned it (well, of course the oil leak..
i see, that seems to be a hot tip, thanks again. I will try to find out, keep you posted during the coming week
Okey guys. Sorry its been a while BUT many, many things have been done the last two months (frustrating weeks..). Trying to find out the issue. Long story short; the changed part-list is huge, so has the work regarding trouble-shooting. Last week we thought there were a problem with the stator, had that rewinded as the last thing we`re gonna do, the bike worked fine for 100km but then the same sh#%$T happend again. Search continued and he found a fault on the UM222 ecu-chip. Replaced it with one from another bike and then: SUCSESS! The bike works fine. Fingers crossed. Hopefully will i get my bike done next week.. Have you ever heard of this before? I heard its normal to change the whole ECU when this problem happen.? I also have a HUGE bill after just riding the 916 only 6-700km:rage:
I had the same sort of problem last year Thought it was Throttle position sensor Or air pressure sensor Ended up being same as you faulty chip in Ecu All ok now Glad you got it sorted
