1200 How Core Baffles Out Of Stock Exhaust???

  1. Got a 2015 multistrada 1200S touring....wondering if anybody out there can give me the tips and tricks for removing the baffles.....the double exhaust has me hesitant. Thanks!

  2. There are no baffles in the stock end can just a diffuser. All the silencing is done in the catalytic converter. If you want more noise, ditch the cat. Andy

  3. Thanks for the response!
Although, if that is the case how come the termi slip on increases the volume and sweetens the exhaust note? Unfortunately, removal of the catalytic converter voids my warranty. Any suggestions that would sweeten the beautiful exhaust note and not void my warranty would make my day!

  4. Tone didn't change, nor volume either when I put Termi slip on on. Just looked better.
    Full Termi system-now that's different!

  5. I fitted the Akropovic end can as a direct replacement for the OE end can. It changed the tone but not the volume and it looked the dogs bollocks. Andy

  6. Would the warranty be fine if you cored the exhaust? I doubt it.

  7. boy that is really dissapointing, because that seems to be the one solution that does not affect the warranty. We got some video clips on you tube that seemed louder, but thats hard to tell on those videos. The dealer also claimed it made a major difference, but then for $1100 what else would he say.....
Just to be clear, you put it on a multistrada right?
The stock ones do not sound bad after 6000 rpm, but up until 4000 it sounds like a sewing machine which is hard to get used to.

  8. For comparison and your dealer tells lies.

  9. What are you talking about?

  10. I can't see how removal of the cat would invalidate the warranty, when you can fit one of their performance Termi which doesn't have a cat, but doesn't void your warranty ?

  11. Thanks Andy!
I was referring to the fact that the termi slip on seems to be the only option that the dealer says preserves the warranty and it doesn't seem to sound that different in his opinion.

  12. Ive got a 2010 Hyper with the baffles removed , looks like stock pipes but don't sound like stock pipes :tonguewink:

  13. I have the 2015 touring. There are no baffles in the muff, it's basically straight thru. There's nothing to core. The cat is the problem. But I will say at 10000 miles my bike seems to be somehwat louder and better sounding.

  14. Strange, my dealer couldn't wait for me to put a full mivv system on my new bike, he was sick of repairing exhaust valves, he even wrote me a letter saying they would honour the warranty as long as I took it to them to check for mixture related problems after I fitted it, all was fine and the bike had much more mid - top end power.
