Fitting Crash Bobbins But...

  1. got some Puig crash bobbins/mushrooms/frame sliders (whatever you want to call them) to go on my Hyperstrada, question...
do I need to support the weight of the engine to take the engine mount bolt out so I can fit the Puig bolt for the bobbins ?

    this type...

    thanks

  2. I have done a 916, 749, M1100 and a 1098 and have never needed to support the engine to fit crash bungs.

  3. sorted, loosened the engine mount bolt and it rattled so no weight or pressure on it...

  4. unsorted... the Puig bobbins are shite, the steel threaded bar is too short and I stripped the alloy threads in the bobbin trying to get it tight enough so I couldn't turn the bobbin by hand
have a plan though, going to recycle the Puig spacers and make my own out of stunt pegs:grinning:
this is what we made today...

doesn't look like much there but...
now painted satin black, drilled mounting holes, attached Givi tank lock ring and sorted, one tank bag tail pack :grinning:

just need some better quality bolts to finish it off and will post a better photo somewhere
