749 Another Termi Question.

  1. Yes, the seller said it came off a black swingarm, deep sump 749, but I'm guessing it was a shallow sump. Oh well, anyone got an angle grinder?

  2. How have you built up to that point? Are you working from the header pipes back?

They are a bitch to fit and can often look like its miles off but with some wriggling fit perfectly, if a little snug ;)

  3. Yes. Have tried every way. Even tried swapping the headers.
If I put the vertical header on the horizontal cylinder it will pass the sump but obviously won't line up with the rear section.

  4. As above,

They are a bugger to fit but check it all comes together okay off the bike first.

The header pipes are specific to each cylinder so don't get the the wrong way around.

  5. Thanks. I've not tried to tighten anything up yet but still can't see how it would fit. I'm sure it would fit quite easily on a shallow sump model.
To fettle it until it does would require an angle grinder, a welder and someone who knows what they're doing, none of which applies to me.

  6. I think that OP has probably got things well sussed by now: personally, I'd be going after the vendor that sold it as being for a deep sump model…

  7. Thing is, I paid £750 cash for it which would make it difficult to reclaim.
I asked if he would accept it back ( as he had a 14 day return policy) but he refused, citing that it was in good condition and as described (Which technically it wasn't). Hopefully,he wasn't trying to be misleading and to me it seemed a good price, considering it came with the ecu, filters etc.
I've seen just the tail section go for more than what I paid, so I'll probably hold onto it for a while, before deciding whether to sell it on or try and get it adapted somehow.
