I literally can't believe this thing. Done about 500 miles in two weeks and I love it. Compared to the 848 it's not as brutal in the low end but so much easier to ride around. The electronics and traction make me feel utterly glued to the ground. I feel like this bike just makes me a better rider, it helps Me lean, it forgives me for small errors like a slight blip on the acceleration. Not to mention the speed of this thing, it feels like I've strapped a rocketship to an ever bigger rocket ship. I love how it's literally just a swing arm bolted to an engine block with some fairings. It's literally the feeling of riding a dangerous animal. The bike makes me respect her, it knows I'll never be as skilled as the bike requires, that its limits out does mine and I love that. The brakes could stop a hormonal single woman from eating a tub of Ben N Jerrys. I can't believe the sheer stopping power of them. I had a go on the R1M this week and it just felt like a shell of a bike compared to this. Yes it felt fast and yes the electronics were amaZing but the brakes suspension and chassis of 1199 just feel worlds beyond. I'm so utterly happy with this bike and know I'm going to put a tonne of miles over the next few years. I don't drive so this bike will be my transport all year round. I welcome Vanessa to the family!
Less low end grunt so 1-5k. Soon as you go 5k-8k the thing murders you and makes the 848 look like a pushbike.
Try getting it re-maped by chris at Xbikes Wisbech i have just done around 2k in the Italian/Swiss Alps on my 1199s since he worked his magic it now runs as smooth as silk with no launch at 5k its just smooth max power all the way up he also fitted cruise and a blipper which is awesome, wet mode is an absolute laugh you can literally abuse the power you just get great grip with loads of confidence:smile:
