So why did I ask for your name to get a bankers draft arranged for you? And yes it's been difficult as my techie has been away on holiday, my wife's away as my Daughters in a London Hospital, I've been working silly hours etc.. Can you really blame anyone for wanting to check the validity of a Ducati engine via Ducati UK before parting with £20k! To me that's a lot of money... If it is, or isn't to you, well that's your business, but don't tell me I'm running you around in circles, you told me weekends were Hectic for you so I honoured that by asking you on Fri for the engine number, waited patiently, nothing, today you ask what's happening but no response to the engine number.. When I ask again for it, you flip by text and tell me to forget it, I'm a waste of time.. Yes you've kindly sent me pics and vids which are truly appreciated but I wouldn't expect any less really for a potential £20k .. I've rebuilt cars and bikes which to me were priceless, but when marriage and kids came along they had to go.. I never got what I spent on them.. TBF you have not had people queuing for your £60k build either have you.. Just one who dearly liked your bike and was, doing ALL he could as best he could to get you the sale you seemed so needing and me the bike of my dreams.. So please don't accuse me of being Someone who never intended to buy in the first place.. Again I apologise for any offence, it's purely a reaction to being left very disappointed in not obtaining a bike of my dreams and partly in being told by text where to go when I've said nothing offensive to you in the negotiations at all.. I tried my best to achieve for the two of us but it obv didn't quite workout.. I have TBH and say to me, that kind of £££ is a lot, I've been ripped off big time before not on bikes but by other things/people, it leaves a very sick feeling I can tell you so yes I'm wary.. I'm sorry for that.. I hope you keep your bike I truly do, to work that hard for it you deserve too.. But please don't you or anyone else tell me I'm /I've wasted your time.. My daughter a year ago spent 8 days in intensive care in a coma after taking an overdose, she, like her Dad suffers serious depression, yet, with all the issues the condition brings we both go out of our way to highlight it and to help others who may be struggling to cope with similar situations.. It helps us to help others.. My wife rushed to be with my Daughter, I said I couldn't bear to see my most precious thing in that condition.. It was an excuse.. That same night I took an OD too, I didn't think my Daughter would make it and wanted to be with her.. Incredibly we both got through it.. My Daughter lives with her fiancé in Surrey in a 6 million £ property.. So even money can not bring total happiness.. She has damage to her kidneys, self inflicted, I will be on medication for life after damaging my organs too.. If there's one thing the pair of us have promised each other it's to not waste a moment.. And yes that also means not to waste yours or anyone else's time either.. If it's the 955 that says fully restored.. Just take a close up view of the engine casings on it.. See if you think it warrants a fully restored tag...
To add, as this seems to be the fashion.. In my expierience, it's only when life's joyride hits the buffers, that you will really, find out, who are real friends and who are simply clingons .. Ok so I might have been wrong in this instance I'm Big enough to admit things when I'm wrong.. If you stick your head above the parapet you expect to take a few hits.. However, I'm also happy the decision of potential purchase in this case was taken away from me too.. I truly wish Hugh happiness in whatever he decides to do in the future.. With or without his beautiful 955..
I know what your saying mTe .. But, thinking it over, my feeling is, the odd exhibit I took it too or the odd, say 10 mile parade ride I went on, as luvly as it undoubtably is.. It's not your build.. It's Hugh's build and will always be... I will get there mate trust me, those who really know me know.. I'm rarely defeated.. X
Well this all seems a right summat and nowt. Can see both sides, big Jessies the lot of you. £20k is a lot of money for a toy, £30k even more so. If you put £60k into zomething you get a return of £20k on then is that good sense? Too many numbers. Handbags.
Ok so.... Any chance of wrapping up this thread now and deleting / archiving it. I have explained myself and divulged more about than my personal circumstances than should be necessary.
Good thread, makes me want to come back to this Forum, both sides have been open and pretty sincere (a particularly rare thing on a public forum) and I hope this goes some way to help each empathise with the others situation even if a deal wasn't struck.
Tbf given the OP description most would have thought a scam of some kind. Why delete just close surely?
It seems that both sides could have approached this differently but circumstances meant that its not worked out. Why hamper someones chances of selling a bike (the threads existence rather than the OP wanting to derail it) over something that's been resolved. @Noods isn't buying the bike and @955sp isn't selling it to him.
