Any body on here changed handlebars on a Multi, if you have how difficult is it. I fancy trying a pair of Renthal fatbars (if they fit) with a bit more pull back, advice and opinions appreciated.
Tried the Renthal web site configurator and it showed no products. Never had any issues with my handlebars apart from the small diameter of the grips but that would mean changing to an after market throttle. Andy
The Ducati bars have drilled holes to position the grip controls so you'd need to grind off the nubs on the controls or drill your own holes. When removing the throttle grip, there's a high chance the two halves of the throttle position sensor housing pop apart releasing a small spring which will disappear across your garage. Avoid separating the to halves if possible.
Thanks gents, don't think I'll bother then. I was hoping that it would have been a straight swap. I just fancied trying a bar swept back slightly more that's all.
Interesting. I find the bars on my DVT are too swept back and too low. This results in a kind of pinch point on my throttle wrist. I'm trying to get the local dealership to se if the risers that are fitted to the Enduro could be used on the 1200 DVT without compromising the cable lengths etc
Let us know about the Enduro risers too. I was looking at them (I need the bars raised up a bit). I also looked at a potential handlebar change (I have some Renthal Twinwalls in my garage from a previous bike). The cable run looks quite tight already though, so it would be good to know if the Enduro has different cables (the part numbers are printed on the cables). Anyone got an Enduro and can share part numbers?
Not sure if it's relevant but I fitted risers to my 2012 model. Fitting was straightforward but the throttle cables were too stretched and I had to have them extended by Venhill.
