Morning Folks, any of you good people using the Kriega kit on your DVTs' ? Just wondering what you are finding to be the best way of attaching the quick release straps. If you'd care to share please do, any hints or tips and pictures more than welcome.
Not sure what it's like on the DVT, but I had the same problem on the old multi. There is nothing but smooth plastic under the seat. Are these the 'new' quick release straps that are just loops? If so, they are dirt cheap so I got another set and was then happy to screw the spares to the underside of the passenger seat and keep the un-tampered with originals for the next bike.
Don't know if there is much difference but I have no problem at all on my pre-DVT. One pair of straps at the very front of the grab rail (there is a convenient notch that keeps them firmly in place) and the other two at the back of the carrier thing. The bag sits half on the passenger seat and half on the carrier. Solid as even with a US-20 on top. Might not work so well if you want to take a passenger though.
ROK straps work well and are adjustable. ROK Straps 12-42 Adjustable Loop-Thru -2Pk BLACK: Amazon.co.uk: Car & Motorbike
I have the US-20. The bag sits on the pillion seat. The straps with the metal hooks just reach the plastic hooks on the bike underneath. The straps that fit on the tail end of the bag, well, I use the straps with the loops on the grab rail and attach the straps with the metal hooks to them. Depending on what I fit in the bag I can sometimes find that I can't make the straps short enough to tie it down tight. I'll take a photo if that helps. I'm not sure if any of that made sense.
Some pics in old thread ~ might work on DVT as well... 'nuff said... http://ducatiforum.co.uk/threads/is...it-a-kriega-us30-tail-pack.24941/#post-394761
