I'm smaller than you but I've got a 1098 which is smaller than an 1198 so you'll probably be OK :Angelic:
I am 6"6" And Bike is indeed tallest of that era BUT be warned if you have long legs (like me) you cannot properly hug the tank with thighs as knees butt into the side fairings that stick out ( where they are bolted to the frame) My old R1 did not have this issue as frame was larger and your legs glided from tank onto frame and the tank grips covered both. On Ducati 1098 your knees will be doing the hugging and it can get sore on track days so I bought some knee padding to go under leathers.
I'm 1,86m (6'1" in old money), with relatively long legs. I never had an issue with the seating position. Your best bet is to just try one for size. The only thing I noticed and had to get used to was that coming from a Triump Daytona, the reach from the seat to the clip-ons was way longer. When I got back on the Daytona after a long test ride, I felt like the bars were next to my knees.
Five ten, 100kg(in bike gear ish). Heavy on my wrists, aches slightly after 250-300 mile days (my last two). Can't say it's as comfortable as my zzr11 (550 miles a day easily achievable) but it's not expected to be!
5ft 4" here at about 10 and a half stone. Have no problem touching the floor on my 1098s, although that is tippy toes . Did a trip to the San Marino Moto GP a couple of years ago with at least one 500 mile day, apart from slightly aching wrists it was nothing but fun and a comfy ride. Even us midgets can ride em :sunglasses:
Three would have been nice! It was actually four - and that was from full to fuel light on each time! I only get 80 miles per tank to the light, so need to think a bit smart about where I can top up! The trip from Darlington to Jedburgh on the A68 was a tad worrying, there was a decided lack of fuel stations. Cracking road though, albeit speed camera central. (As a ps I need to stop just the once on the ZZR....)
